1. As I'm selling my EUB I'm also selling this amazing bit of kit. Now sadly discontinued, it is a powerful EQ, compressor, preamp etc etc that can run on battery or adapter (doesn't come with one) I can only find 2 recent sales on ebay, both at over £100 and with shipping from the USA. So for the BC massive it's £85 + postage. It is quite heavy and I would expect postage to be £8 to £10. But you are welcome to collect if you are near Northants (Near Junction 16 on the M1) ta
2. Selling my NS Design NXT 5 string EUB I am the first owner and I bought it from Bass Direct It is in excellent condition. It has the large bag / soft case thing that comes with it and the standard tripod stand. it is currently fitted with silly money Thomasktik Spirocore strings (almost £200 for for a 5 string set!). They are a great improvement on the stock strings which (for me anyway) sounded far too bright. It will also come with the stock strings so you can decide for yourself which ones you like best. Due to the size of the thing this will be collection only - I'm near Junction 16 on the M1 - Northants. £750.00 ovno with both sets of strings and all the gubbins. ta ADDITION If any of you good people want this lovely thing, then I will now also add a Yita Music "Advanced" model bow for no extra money! I bought this direct and it flew in from China.
3. Have you got an accurate weight yet? I am interested but it really depends on the weight.
4. I have the same reaction to new Pro-steels, but the flexsteels take it further to the point where I actively didn't want to pick the bass up. No point having a lovely bass when I didn't want to touch it!
5. I've got the Cliff Burton wah. For it's purpose it is excellent. For anything else it's pants.
6. I had an Attitude 3 that was 12 lb (5.4 kg). They vary so much that I would not use figures from a different instrument.
7. Anyone got one? Many years ago I had a UK built MAG400H (red front) and it was a great sounding amp, and I ended up selling it. I like the Ashdown sound but since that flawless MAG400H there have been loads of horror stories about Ashdown reliability. I have no idea if that has been fixed or the issues remain - so that's really what I'm asking about. Are they now as reliable as any other? Or is there a reason I sometimes see 2 on top of a 8x10? ta
8. I put a set of Flexsteels on my Sandberg and I'm not getting on with the feel under my fingers. Great sounding string, but I'm going back to Pro-Steels I think.
9. He just had more of my money as well - for a Darkglass Vintage Microtubes Deluxe. Great bloke. It actually annoys me when I want to buy something he doesn't stock as I'd prefer my business went to him.
10. I often run 2 compressors - one after envelope filter types but before the drive, and then after the drive as well. If I have to only have it in once place then I'll lose the after drive one. Placement causes very different sounds and there is no right or wrong place as long as it works for you. I love my Empress Compressor, but I'm very keen to try the new Keeley one as well - that looks like a great unit.
11. I've had several Status basses and a Modulus. I really like them. There seems to be a clarity to the note that wood doesn't have. Very piano tone-like. The only reason I don't have a 5 string status us that their standard neck is too wide for me - but I may well get one of their musicman ray5 replacements at some point.
12. I sold my Shuttle 9.2 but my Streamliner isn't going anywhere. I really hope this works out for Jeff, his products are brilliant. I'm also hoping he does some new small combos - a Streamliner type into a 1x12 with a built in compressor would be perfect for me!
13. All my 4 string have D tuners on. I find them very useful. I also play 5 strings. Different tools for different tasks.
14. Calais disruption is causing loads of postal delays from the Rest of Europe. It's not Thomanns fault. After all, they are not French truckers!
15.
so how about a nice basschat members discount ?
It's already on discount!
16. I have coveted that since I first saw it. But with my back -nothing over 9.5 lb gets in my house. Gutted.
17. I've never tried mine straight into a power amp. I'll have to give that a go. I see Thomann are doing the Limited version at the same price as the standard one - £247.64 delivered. I'd be tempted, but I think I want a Vintage Deluxe next.
18. Can I ask why it isn't Centre-neg? That seems to be the way 99% of new pedals are.
