1. Yes. The circuits are completely separate
2. Do you actually run stereo? If not - then a Tecamp Puma 900 would have plenty of beans and be 1u and light. The rack ears are now unavailable, but the Eich versions for the T series amps fit.
3. Due to the catastrophic MOT failure I've just had (subframe has basically rotted) I need to sell some much loved things. I really have no idea on the price of modified instruments so I've picked the price roughly based on what I had to pay to re-buy a fretless of almost identical (modified) spec that I sold on here and went round a few people before it came home. I have owned this for donkeys years and as you can see from the pics it has some scars, scratches, dings, finger nail gouges etc. It has been played and gigged a lot. It has been modified. In between the stock J pickups is a Dimarzio Will Power (Billy Sheehan) model pickup. That goes to it's own output with just a volume control. The stock J pickups go to a blend and a tone (active treble control). The battery was originally in the control cavity but with the extra Vol pot there wasn't any room, so it now has it's own new location and cover as seen on the back. The reason was so I could have entirely different signals going to 2 different amps - like Jon Entwhistle / Billy Sheehan etc. The work was done by our favourite luthier Paul_C / Arrowhead Guitars. It plays very nicely and is fitted with a nearly new set of GHS Pressurewound strings. You will notice the £100 Gotoh D-Tuner on the headstock. You can see that one of the little washers on the tuning head bit (not the d-tuner bit) has split. It still functions perfectly so I haven't tried to disassemble it to replace the washer. For those that don't know - these early Status models do not have a Truss Rod. The neck is very straight and stable. I have a medium-low action. It could probably go a little lower on the saddles for players that aren't as heavy handed. The very best bit is the graphite neck. Super stable and never goes out of tune. Sometimes I've had light 30-90 slappers on it, and sometimes heavy old flats. No movement at all. Unfortunately I need to replace my car so I can't be sentimental about this lovely old girl. I have a generic softcase that will fit. I've seen some mint non-modded ones sell used in shops at about £750 Taking into account the battle scars and the mods, and the need for a new car, and the amazing graphite neck I'm looking for quite a lot less at about £500 or near offer. Don't be shy about offers. Buyers can either collect or arrange their own courier at their own risk. I'm in Northamptonshire, near to J16 on the M1 ta. I'm hoping to avoid selling the fretless ones as well, but if needs be... FML.
4. Just had the email from Claire. One10 nearly ready to ship. Can't wait to try a pair of them!
5. Buy up all the website names with every extension asap and have them redirect to yours.
6. I have TI on my Ray5 loaded with EMGs. Sounds lovely.
7. 90% of the time I'm happy with my bass into a compressor and a very clean amp. But I don't want to buy a new amp just for a, for example, Ampeg driven rock sound. For that type of gig a preamp pedal, left on does the job without too much money being spent. I also do like the DI options as others have mentioned.
8. I did ask Doug about the Era knob on FB - he reckons that the EQ on V2 could do it all anyway. But I did like the 1 knob tweakability. I have a V1 and it's not going anywhere. It's too useful.
9. Does the EQ work on just the clean element or on the whole lot?
10. It is 1 unit. The Universe has sold out of Tecamp rack mount kits BUT I am informed (By Thomas Eich no less) that the rack kits for the Eich T series 1u amps will fit the Puma 1u amps.
11. Just seen on facebook that Phil Bynoe is using the Helix live now - at the moment using it into the FX return of his Aguilar's and into a regular cab. Nice.
12.
Anything other than massive praise is classed as slagging off regarding BF cabs, this is basschat law.
Ok, poor choice of words. But I still don't know why it's only his products that get this amount of polarising discussion.
13. I was looking at the Eich amps, but now I'm wondering if I should get down to Bass Direct to try one of these.
14. http://www.youtube....h?v=1b1wUjYqFhc Sounds nice!
15. Personally I think it's brilliant that Alex had an idea an ran with it. And to attract someone of TC's quality is great and will no doubt help fill the order book. With so many start up companies going under within 12 months of starting I would have said Alex was utterly mental to set up a manufacturing company in the UK. But he's managed it, and whether I like the cabs or not (only tried the One10, and I've got my order in for a second one) it's a very welcome success story. I wonder if Larry Hartke would get the repeated slagging on here that Alex gets? Somehow I doubt it.
16. MicroPOG on hold pending payment.
17. I used to. But now I gig with a One10 It's plenty loud enough to get over the clarinets
18.
Commerford is sufficiently high-profile that he could choose any brand he wanted under the same conditions.
No he couldn't Marshall don't give kit for free. The artists pay for it. They get a lot of support for tours etc thrown in, but they pay for the gear.
19. Only the Line 6 Ottofilter and the microPOG left. Bump!
20. Joyo SOLD Zoom Tri-Metal SOLD Zoom Power Drive SOLD GT2 SOLD MF3 SOLD
21. I ordered a second One10 the other day. Now I'm feeling inadequate.
22.
That's what's behind him. He has three 15" JBL wedges in front of him. Apparently Brad keeps complaining that he's too loud...
Bloody hell. I bet his hearing is shagged.
23. I bet that's a bit loud. Surely he can afford some good monitors?
24. Sandberg VS4 Passive. The Mk1 version, as the Mk2 has a slightly different shape. The necks are all the same across the VS and TT range - very jazz like but with a flatter 'board. Very comfy indeed.
25. I must get round to trying it on vocals - the L6 forum guys reckon it's very good for that. I imagine a keyboard with any of the new generation modellers would be great fun. Alas I haven't got one to try it!
