1.
You certainly can! But LB-30 (mine, not sure about newer ones) has effects loop BEFORE preamp, not between preamp and poweramp, so both preamps will work in conjunction, no matter how you plug it in.
Really? What would be the point of having it before the preamp? That wouldn't be a "loop" at all - it's no different to plugging into the front of the amp!
2. Been looking at the Roland Mobile Cube. Has a few minor FX, but seems to be for keys and acoustic guitar, and has a bit of reverb. Might be just the thing. She hasn't got a PA (She's 10 years old). It's 99% classical stuff. She plays in a local music trust orchestra that I also play in.
3. Any ideas? The daughter of a friend has just got an electric violin and needs an amplifier. My first thought was a keyboard or bass amp - but what say you fine people?
4. Selling my Keeley 4 knob compressor It's in great condition and has velcro on the bottom. They seem to be £200 new these days. I'm looking for £140.00 or close enough, delivered in the UK. ta
5. Colorado Bulldog. Took me frakking ages to get that right.
6. No. If you run the FX SEND from one head into the INPUT of another (the front end) then you will be stacking Preamps on top of each other. Not recommended. You could use the FX SEND on 1 head into the FX return on the other. That would use Preamp on the 1st head and the Power Amp on the second, but whether that gives you EQ control depends on where the EQ is in the circuit on the amp. It also means the Preamp on the 2nd head has no influence on the sound - it is bypassed. AND, the head being used as Preamp only may still need a speaker load on it (some won't but many will). Buy an EQ pedal instead. Ashdown have one, or the MXR EQ pedal, or a Soundblox programmable thing. It's far safer and less kit.
7. Billy Gould, Faith No More: from out of nowhere.
8. UK company... But cheaper in USA? http://www.notreble.com/buzz/2015/02/03/ashdown-announces-desktop-b-social-bass-amp/
9. I have that receiver unit with my headset rig (for magic shows. I'm not in 5Star!) I'll dig it out later and have a look at the connections. Can't say I've paid any attention in the past!
10. I emailed Jim - he said May in the USA, ROW shortly after.
11. The SP is quite good, but there is a bass roll-off going on. And it can be a little hissy at high compression settings. If you want tiny, then the Henretta Orange Whip is probably the smallest of all - or maybe the HoTone Komp. Different worlds between the quality of those 2 though. I'm looking for another Comp, and I'm going with the EQD The Warden. Has great reviews, no low end loss and top mounted jacks for a bit of space.
12. Maple body? That's going to weigh a metric shitload!
13. Good point on the shelving thing. No idea! Doesn't say on the site.
14. Hartke HA3500 into a Marshall VBC412, with a wah and a couple of drive pedals AND Ashdown MAG400H into another Marshall VBC 4x12. Just a compressor pedal Modded Status with 2 outputs so both amps were run at the same time.
15. So the "Not Treble" control is at 2.8Khz - which is pretty much in treble land anyway, but then there is no way to bring down the zing from new strings etc. Not sure I'm convinced about this.
16. Another vote for Yita They range from £75 to £150 or so - depends on exchange rate I think this is the one I've got http://www.yitamusicshop.com/ProductView.aspx?ProductID=89
17. Swapped a few messages with Berg on FB. It appears the fan is silent and only comes on if the ambient temp is too high - and over 4 days of NAMM none of the fans came on, on the 3 prototypes that they were running. I'm starting to save up now.
18. Also "Auxiliary input, instrument input, auxiliary gain, (overload indicator in between) instrument gain, Master volume, protect indicator, clip indicator, Bass control (push for Variable High Pass Filter), Lo-Mid control (Memory 1), Hi-Mid control (Memory 2), Treble control (Bright control), Program mode, mute/tuner & USB port for software updates." "On/Off power (world-wide auto-switching), headphone output, effects send, effect return, DI w/ Gnd lift, speakon connectors & fan. On the final version, he tuner output will be a preamp output."
19. They say it's going to be about 8lb. That will do!
20. The best thing about Zvex is that they make great pedals that are easy to clone and put in a far more sensible shape enclosure. I have a clone of the Fuzz Factory that I A/B tested with a real one. Can't tell the difference at all. It was half the price and is in a standard shape box.
21. I was thinking about the Wampler Ego or the EQD The Warden - they both have very good reviews on Ovnilab, but I might wait to see about the Seymour Duncan.
22.
I still look at the white one at bass direct and ponder buying it. Talking of which- anybody else find the bass direct "demo" videos incredibly annoying?
Yup.
23. Yes, but with crap battery life "VOLTO can have amazing battery life when powering pedal varieties that use a standard 9-volt battery. Just about every analog overdrive, phase, flange, delay, compression and tremolo pedals fall into this category. Tuners too. Certain pedals, like high-fidelity digital delays and reverbs, draw very large amount of power and are frequently in an “always on” mode. “Always on” can mean two things: a) the player leaves the effect engaged all the time, or the pedal is drawing current regardless of whether or not the effect is engaged. While VOLTO can power these pedals, it is important to note that VOLTO was not designed to power these types of effects as a primary design function. VOLTO’s battery life will be diminished using the pedal types."
