Yup. I use the Vintage deluxe as my preamp into the Fx loop of my amp. In front of that I have a B7K, Super Symmetry, Duality Fuzz, ThorpyFX Muffroom Cloud and a univibe, and a Bass Synth Wah. Works great.

Ha! I do other stuff too. If there was enough magic work then I'd quit everything else.

I have a Sonic Port. Great bit of kit and the software is good. Also compatible with Amplitude.

As you lot haven't bought one, I'll have to take one for the team. The rack units won't land for another 4 or 5 weeks, but one has my name on it.

I'm looking forward to this. I had the original but it didn't have as much drive as the rack preamps - so I'm hoping the new one does do the fully saturated thing like my SVP-BSP does.

If I pitch up to the local orchestra and say "bassist" then I'd be handed a Double Bass, not a bass guitar. If I just said "bass player" - I'd be asked what instrument? There's a good chance I'd be lumped with the bass clarinets. So it depends on the situation and who I'm talking to.

The bigger the room, the lower the onstage volume needs to be. I'd go with in ears if possible, but if not then wedge cabs that point up towards your head. between them and the hopefully supplied monitors you'll hear yourself.
