The Joyo Double Thruster is very close in tone to the B3K. It's a very good clone. Certainly close enough to try for cheap to see if that is in the right direction. Amazon have them, and their returns are dead easy.

The AO drive sound is very different from the B7K / B3K Darkglass sound. If I was the OP, I'd swap the amp for the MT900 v2 instead to get that B3K and Vintage Microtube tone options.

The Henretta Engineering Orange Whip is the smallest I've ever seen. https://reverb.com/p/henretta-engineering-orange-whip I'm sure you could remove the switch and wire it to always be on as well if the switch got in the way. The other controls are inside on trim pots.

All entirely normal. Part of the speaker protection system. I'm a big fan of the brand and over the years I've had LM2, LM3, F1, a couple of combos, the Goldline Marcus head, and now the AG1000. They all do it, by design.

My favourite for a transparent, doesn't affect the normal tone at all is the Boss BC-1X. It's so good I sold my Cali76 / Darkglass / Empress etc etc It just works in every setting, and doesn't do any annoying volume dip and swell that some compressors do with high output pickups. For a dirty compressor that is really a tone changing machine my favourite is the Fairfield The Accountant.

I've been thinking about changing the EMGs in my Sandberg, just because of wanting-a-change reasons and I'll have to have a look at some Barts now.

Considering how Chester died I'm surprised the band picked a Scientologist just because of their stance on mental health and treatment. Strikes me as odd.

The only Barts I've had have been the cheap ones in an Ibanez. They are so bad I think they've probably damaged the brand a little.

I'm loving the tone he's getting with the Overwater and the EBS acoustic preamp. I've never had an EBS anything - but now I'm thinking about it! Damn this GAS!

I wish the larger GR stuff - like the vertical 2x12 etc - had tilt back wheels. I know they are really light, but everything feels heavy if it has to be carried for long enough.

Also - the 2-TEK bridge is a pile of arse. You got the right one. The 2-TEK's only discernible purpose is to make a bass even heavier while at the same time making it impossible to get spares and cutting a massive hole in the body meaning it's really difficult to use a different bridge when the spares run out.

ah man! I am jealous! I tried one of those at the old Birmingham Bass Centre in about '96. It was brilliant! I was at uni and had no money to buy it, but I looked for one for years after I graduated. Too heavy for me these days, but I'd still have one to play when sitting down in front of the TV! Congratulations indeed!
