1. I've been looking at the NI Komplete Audio 6. Seems to have excellent reviews and a good selection of software to go with it.
2. As it says It needs to cope with vocal and guitar / bass at the same time. thanks
3. I have one of them and I quite like it, but then I got the Neotech Mega Bass Strap which was more comfy and didn't have the buckle issue
4. David Shields on the bass http://www.discogs.com/artist/319199-David-Shields
5. and someones rip of the Retinal Circus dvd https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nBJ9U5m81PI
6. some crap phone footage from last night https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10152481441848726&l=5200428960395551555
7.
I used to love his stuff. Well, the old stuff is still untouchable - Ocean Machine, City, Terria etc. Hit a wobbly patch with the disappointing Ziltoid, I just about gave up on him when I heard Deconstruction. I know "It's just entertainment folks" but that album was painful to listen to. And now he's getting the critical attention he deserves. Funny old world! Still, he has a fearsome back catalogue and he's an incredible guitarist and singer.
Ziltoid was intended to be a piss take! It was excellent Deconstruction wasn't great, but Addicted was superb, possibly the best of his career. I pledged to his new Casualties of Cool album, it's pop but very well crafted.
8. Yup. He's had several bands since then. The super heavy Strapping Young Lad, the slightly less heavy Devin Townsend Band, the current Devin Townsend Project. And the amazingly bonkers Ziltiod concept.
9. Just got back from the Devin Townsend gig. Phenomenal show. Wanted to see him for years, and he didn't disappoint.
10. Signal path from the top right.... TC Helicon Harmony Singer > Vox Big Bad Wah > TC Polytune > Mooer Chorus > Digitech iStomp > Suhr Koko Boost > Xotic SL Drive > AMT P2 Preamp Pedal (basically a EVH 5150) > HBE Detox EQ > into amp > Loop > Boss DD6 Delay > Hardwire Supernatural Reverb > loop return. Sometimes I swap out the Detox EQ (actually used to reduce signal rather than boost it) for an AMT R2 (Rectifier) preamp pedal instead.
11. I love just being the bass player. Play, and f*** off. No boring sh*te. And then when I'm the singer.... Endless takes to get it just right. I love singing live, hate recording it.
12. Here's mine All powered by a Gigrig Power generator, distributors and isolators. The delay and the reverb are in the loop, the rest in front of the amp.
13. I get all my cables from http://www.kablonline.co.uk/instrument.html They do the Hicon low profile patch cables and my monster board is all wired up with them. Very good quality and the Hicons actually saved me enough space to get another pedal on!
14. Does MuseScore allow the scanning in of sheet music to then be edited, like Sibelius does?
15. Get Stevie Salas: The Sun and the Earth Salas on guitar, TM Stevens on bass https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q18HgDx1EYk
16. Any recommendations? If I have to splash £99 for Sibelious First then I will, but if there is something good that's free, then great! I did find MuseScore - anyone tried that? ta
17.
If you use parcelforce you can choose your insurance amount.
Not for guitars. The limitations are in the policy exclusions. Doesn't matter if you pay for more cover, the policy terms won't pay out full value on guitars.
18. I had to at one point - my sheet music fell off the stand!
19. Gigged it properly this morning. Orchestra type gig with a variety of ensembles. Sounded superb. Very happy indeed.
20. I emailed Warmoth and asked if I could buy a replacement neck for my strat with a decal. The answer: "Only Fender can put their logo on products. Our necks have our logo and certain other information stamped on the heel, but per our license agreement with Fender, we do not apply any logos or decals to our headstocks. There are many people who apply decals of various kinds to various headstocks for their own personal use, and information on that can be found online. Let me know if there’s anything else I can help with."
21.
I've bought a Mighty Mite one with a decal. Brand new from an authorized distributor. He said as it was licensed it was allowed to wear the Fender badge.
When? If Fender have given written permission then that is ok - but I doubt that still applies as Fender are now selling their own. That is the point - the logo and headstock shape belongs to Fender. They get to decide what happens to it. They can grant permissions or not. But a builder doesn't get to assume they have permission - it needs to be specific.
22. Genz Streamliner Lovely amp. If you can find a used one. The new Fender Rumbles are supposed to be based on Genz tech, but I'm not sure if that's based on the Shuttle or Streamliner models. I have both and they are very different.
23.
Which totally invalidates your point about buying a fender decal'd neck and fitting it to a non-fender body...
I think you are right on that point. I'm wrong. But I'm not wrong on the rest.
