1. To be fair to Elixir - they did announce an imminent 45% price increase last year, with plenty of warning. There were threads on here about it, and it was on Stringbusters / Strings Direct websites too - and in their email marketing. I don't use their strings, but a couple of mates do so they just bought as many as they could stretch to before the price rise. Oh - and they are often way cheaper on Amazon. Just have to keep looking! Pedal power

I used a One-Spot for years until I used the same unit to power pedals infront of the amp and in the loop at the same time. Then I got bad hum. I used 2 One-Spots for a while after that. But eventually I bit the bullet and use a Voodoo Labs Pedal Power 2. It's brilliant and dead quiet. And you can still chain from the outputs as long as you don't exceed the current draw. So for example I have my TC tuner and my Wah chained as the total draw is under 100mA. I would have bought the Mondo if it had been available though! It wasn't out at the time.
3. Just met up with Mike for a part-x trade deal. He now has my Yamaha Attitude 3 and I have his Fender Urge 2! Superb to deal with and everything was perfect! Good to meet you!
4. Just drop to D on the E string and adjust the what you play on the other strings. All the notes are there, just in a different place relative to the dropped D.
5. Ear plugs. If the monitor mix is crap or there just aren't any at all then ear plugs can save you. When you've got plugs in you hear your own voice at pretty much normal volume as you get the sound transfer via the bones in your skull. But the band are lowered in volume by loads. No need to struggle to be heard at all. Vocal will be as clear as day to you. As long as you can hear the band enough for pitch and rhythm you are good to go! I keep 2 different sets of plugs for that reason. Elacin ER20 for just lowering the volume with a flat response (no underwater muffle) and some cheap foam rubber ones which do muffle the high end more. The ones I use depend on the room and the rest of the band.
6. I'm a big fan of the little TC Helicon pedals. Not necessarily for vocal FX / Harmonies etc, but they have a 'Tone' button that de-esses and applies a really nice compression setting to the signal. They have a few different options http://www.tc-helicon.com/products/mic-mechanic/ http://www.tc-helicon.com/products/voicetone-t1/ http://www.tc-helicon.com/products/harmony-singer/ In my experience the thing that most singers don't understand is compression and EQ on vocals. Those little boxes solve a lot of that for a pretty cheap outlay.
7. Bump. Straight sale at £1500.00 now preferred.
8. I ran a Pod Pro XT into a Yamaha P5000S for a while and it was excellent. It might be a modelling preamp - but it sounded very good indeed.
9. I sold my pair of HD112 to get (at the moment) a single CN112 They do sound different. The CN has a bit more mid. When played alone I would say the HD is more pleasing, but in a band mix the CN sits in the mix a bit more prominently. A bit of EQ can get them very close to each other though. I would have been happy to keep the HD cabs, but the weight reduction was the important thing for me. The orchestra rehearsal venue I go to every week has loads of steps and long corridors so I needed that weight loss! EDIT: I own a Genx Streamliner 900 and a Shuttle 9.2. I preferred the HD with the Shuttle and the CN with the Streamliner. But I've never been that picky and either would be fine. I did have a GS112 for a while, but I never got a chance to really crank it up so I don't think I can give a fair comparison, and it was a few years ago. Doubt I'd remember a tone accurately!
10. Saw him at the O2. Got the tickets for the wife's birthday I was totally blown away. Amazing show in every way.

Nux Pedals

http://www.nuxefx.com/ The 'Core' pedals and the dual button ones look a bit.... Danish! Another Joyo / Mooer type company perhaps? The Time Core delay is about £29 so I might be tempted to take the risk!
12. The Phaser model "Phaser Beam" is amazing! In fact, it's the best phaser I've ever used.
13. I nailed the Hysteria sound with a Digitech Bass Synthwah and a EHX Metal Muff I used a Boss LS2 and had each pedal in a separate loop so they both started with a clean channel. There is a really bad drunken youtube clip of a jam with it somewhere
14. No probs! I reckon the mid sized Diago would take it (will confirm later anyway) as it copes with a Ibanez Weeping Demon with some space to spare.
15. Can you measure the pedal? I've got a couple of cases of different makes - I'll measure them out to compare if you like?
16. The Will Power P pickup has a lot of treble - you won't need a J at the bridge if that is what you are worried about. My Attitude 3 has 3 controls. Vol and Tone for the Woofer and just Vol for the P. But the P Vol is a push pull that joins the 2 outputs together, and the Woofer Tone is also a push pull that is a low pass filter on the woofer to completely knock the treble response out from the Woofer signal. I often use it with the outputs combined and the separate volume controls allow really accurate mixing of the signals. The woofer is a big unit and gets in the way for slap (if you do that) so a narrower choice might be better. A would think a Nordstrand humbucker soapbar would give you more room and still get you a deep and chunky low end. I think the body wood has a fair bit to do with the tone - it's a chunky bit of alder, and although I've owned other basses with the same pickups, the alder seems to give it loads of growl!
17. Bump. You know you want it. Look into my eyes, not round the eyes, in the eyes....
18. Sorry! Will sort them out! Work went mental over the weekend (6 magic shows in 2 days!!!) and I simply forgot!
19. Come As You Are - Bev Knight. It's a huge song and great fun to play.
20. I don't really want to sell this, but something I've always wanted (not bass related) has become available so this is up for sale while the other item is still around. It's a spanking new Yamaha Attitude 3 signature bass. I've had it for a couple of months. Last in - First out. It's in perfect condition and has the proper hardcase and paperwork (more photos to follow). Full specs and some videos about the new wood treatment process and structure are on the Yamaha site here: http://uk.yamaha.com...d_3/?mode=model It has all the bits you expect - the split outputs (you can combine them by pulling up the P volume control), scallopped upper frets; Hipshot D-Tuner etc As per my usual musical leaning these days it has been played in the house and gigged with an Orchestra / County Music Group The last gig was with an Early Years Ukulele group where I rocked the house playing the melody part for 'Sesame Street' - complete with 2 amps using the split signal system!! the Ukulele kids thought I'd over done it a bit! So - no trades on this I'm afraid and I'm pretty firm on the price as it will just cover my mystery item! Collection / meet up is preferred. I'm in Northamptonshire near Junction 16 of the M1
