1. Price set is for all of them together! Soundblox Multiwave Bass Distortion: [s]£55.00[/s] PRICE DROP TO £45.00 [s]MXR Bass Compressor: £120.00[/s] SOLD [s]Wampler Triple Wreck: £150.00[/s] SOLD [s]EBS Billy Sheehan Drive: £135.00 [/s]SOLD Postage at £4 each (Will cost more than that but I'll cover the rest) - Unless someone wants all of them together, in which case I'll cover all the postage. All in excellent condition, All except the Soundblox have Velcro on the bottom. They've only been used at home. Trades: What you got? Always happy to consider pedal trades. Would also consider trading all of them for a bass / combo / lightweight cab. Final point - I'm working all over the place for the next week so postage would probably not happen before 27th August so please bear that in mind. ta!
2.
I haven't found anything like chromes. They are brighter than any of the other flats I've used and couldn't be further away from the sound of TIs or Rotos. I'm using 40-100 and they're fantastic but the E gets too floppy when I use my detuner to go down to D- to get a thicker E I need 50s but they're way too high tension
You can buy them as singles!
3. I had a 4 stringer of that model for a while and it was awesome. How much does it weigh?
4.
This amp will be mine this evening following a clandsetine meeting in a car park for a swapsie
I've done that with him before too. Pervert.
5. Bump. Will take trades if you've got something interesting.
6. I tried Paul_C accugroove. Sounded awesome to me. The DFA switch was pointless as expected!
7. I own a couple of silly money basses, and if I was ever in the market again I will not be buying one of his instruments. I have played one and I did like it, and I recognise that everyone has an off day. But the mark of a professional is to quickly admit mistakes and deal with them. Not throw around accusations that cannot be supported. The accusations of photoshopping does it for me. Very poor approach indeed.
8. So light!!! I had no idea they only weighed that much. Looks like Lull just made my future GAS list!
9. Anyone using an Empress Multidrive? The idea of 3 separate sounds running parallel is a great one but I can only find a fairly tame demo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tStem1h_YHE Thoughts?
10. I've had some Japan too - great service all the way and beautifully packed. In fact, for my CIJ P bass I'd say the shop's description of the condition was really really harsh!
11. With the Music Radar forum still down the guys from there have set up their own new place: http://www.thefretboard.co.uk/
12.
you ARE joking surely? I mean BOTH pictures on the OP's post have Ricks
And mine is a QR code, but I don't play electronica. The pics could have been aspirational rather than something she owned. I don't like to assume.
13. Any 1 of your cabs will give an 8ohm load. Any 2 will give a 4ohm load. The difference is that when the cabs have a higher impedance the amp will be a little bit quieter for any given settings - so More cabs = lower impedence = a bit louder. As your cabs are 200W rating or 400W with both you couldn't crank many modern amps all the way up, so you'd have to be sensible on the volume control of a higher powered amp. Not a big deal though. My cabs have a total handling of 700W and I use a 900W head. Your budget is plenty for a good choice. If I was you, I'd look at this Streamliner 600 : http://basschat.co.u...treamliner-600/ Vid review of the 900W version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d-27szg61bw The Streamliner is my weapon of choice, It's a great amp and weighs next to nothing.
14. I vote Genz Streamliner. Awesome thing. I love it.
15. Hello! What bass are you using? What sound are you looking for / influences / music played? Do you have a budget in mind? It seems like any pair of your cabs will cause a rating of 400W with a 4ohm total load. So there are plenty of heads to use. My current favourite is the Genz Benz Streamliner. Small and light and a nice valvy tone. Mark Bass Little Mark 2 or 3 would be good too, the mk2 are available used for a good price now Hartke LH500 has loads of clean headroom and is cheap as chips. No grit / drive at all though with that. The more info you can give, the better we can help.
16.
Thanks for all the recommendations. I haven't tried flats before but I'm going to give the La Bella Deep Talkin 760FS standard a go :-)
I've had them before - I like them a lot too. Still in love with my Chromes though!
17. Paul Clark from the David Cross Band is using these with Fractal FX units on guitar. He tours the world and is really raving about the Matrix kit. Says they are effectively bullet proof.
18. Solved! Wasn't a rattle! Tried a different room. Tried the cabs on their own. Happened with both. Tried different basses. Still happened. Then swapped amp heads too.... Finally swapped the Speakon leads. Turns out 1 of them was damaged. Dry joint or shorting a little bit and was actually crackling rather than rattling. No issues at all with different speakon cables! Happy bunny again!
19.
Get your wife to help, maybe even get her playing a bit of bass.
I should video that...
20. I hadn't thought about a Sterling! I keep forgetting they have jazz like necks. Never played an ACG! Look nicely made though.
21.
Try it in a different room 1st just in case it is a floorboard.
I will - but it will upset the wife.
22. I think the rattle is in one of my Berg HD112 I thought I had blown a tweeter for a mo, but turning them off doesn't solve anything. Or it could be the floorboards where my amp sits. It is doing my head in. Massively.
