I forgot to say at the time!
I have Dan's Dingwall ABZ5
This is the 3rd bass I've had from him and as usual it was perfectly packed and exactly as described. Excellent bit of kit from an excellent chap.
I'm a mod on Musicradar.
There are no instructions from up on high other than - bin the spam, bin the libel.
Uncle can't ignore me as mods can't be ignored!
After spending some proper time with my ABZ5, and playing in an orchestra with it too I have to ask...
Why do the other bass companies bother anymore?
I am seriously considering off loading everything (Status, Marleaux, Zon etc) to get more Dingwalls.
I'm blown away.
That is all.
I think the fee puts people off. There have been comments about it on other forums (admittedly owned by much larger organisations).
But it's much to early to tell if it will have a real impact on the site. All we have at the moment is correlation, NOT causation. They are not the same thing.
I've put something together.
Some is based on the cello part, and the rest happened while I was watching 'Live after death'' on the telly.
It might be a bit 'gallopy'.....
I was looking for strings for my Dingwall when someone recommended I try some Fodera Extra Long Scale.
Then it hit me - a 4 string set of Elixir is now more expensive than Fodera 5 string extra long.
Madness.

I have actually gone from taking a spare bass (another Stingray naturally) to taking a spare head unless it was a wedding gig then I still take a spare bass, Shuttle 3.0 as spare to Shuttle 6.0, Shuttle 6.0 as spare to Shuttlemax9.2

Genz whore!
(Me too. Shuttle 9.2 and a Streamliner 900)

And cut n paste from Facebook...
A note from SD on facebook:
Strings Direct
"Hey Guys. Just a further update on the Elixir price rise. Below is the new prices effective from 1st July 2013.
Not as bad as we were first informed by our supplier. But still a 40% increase on some sets.
If anyone feels they bought any stock that they didn't want as a result of the initial Elixir price rise email/posts please contact us for a returns number and we will happily refund you in full."
80/20 Acoustics £14.99 (+16%)
Phos Bronze Acoustics £15.99 (+14.6%)
Electric Strings £11.95 (+9.5%)
Bass Strings £42.95 (+43%)
So us low Enders are well f***ed.
My 2 favourite basses are interchangeable.
Dingwall ABZ5
Marleaux Consat Custom 5
I'm happy for either to be main or back up. They are both tremendous.
All of mine are insured for a full replacement value. I have some quite dear ones - Marleaux Consat Custom, Dingwall ABZ5 and the Zon Hyperbass.
I'd be upset if any of them got damaged, but that is why they are insured. The Zon would probably be the biggest pain in the arse to sort out as it would probably take 3 years to get a replacement delivered.

Someone also told me that if a contractor falls off their own badly maintained ladder on your property, you're liable and can be sued? Is that right?
[/quote]
No.
That's bollocks.
The guys that broke it. End of.
No need for a disclaimer for the venue, they didn't do it.
I cannot believe anyone would gig an uninsured instrument of that value ! Madness.
