No doubt there is something similar - and if Jeff has been paid enough then in 10 years time he would have been ready to retire anyway.

[/quote] Definitely not a baseball bat! I'm very picky about neck shapes. The TM5 isn't as slinky as a Marleaux Consat, but it's more comfortable than a Fender 5

I never tune the same way as the guitars. If a low B isn't low enough I drop that, but the rest stays where it is. No point matching the guitars - leave the notes where they are!

The tuners are to extend the range of the instrument, so dropping the E on a 5 string wouldn't be of any benefit. I'm confused why you can't just drop the B string down to A when you need to and play the E-string notes where they are normally. What am I missing?

You can always get a TT5 with just the 2 jazz pickups. The bucker in the TM5 splits very nicely though. I tend to use it split most of the time, unless I'm just using the bucker, then I use all of it!

Another vote for Sandberg here. I love my TM5, it just sounds right and it's dead easy to play.

I have a Shuttle 9.2 and a Streamliner 900. Very different, but both excellent. I tend to use the Shuttle more often as I like the clarity and piano-tone, but I'll be keeping both!

Treble control is well spec'd - turned down it gets a nice vintage sound too.

The MXR is great for keeping the low end. I've got plenty of filters but the MXR seems to work best in a band mix.

Just bought an Xotic SP Compressor from Pablo. Quick postage, well packed (needed a scythe to get through the tape!) and the pedal is in excellent condition. All good!

I have one of those and I love it. Good choice!

Larry wasn't a fan of the common Class D power amps. So maybe they are making their own instead. The preamp in the LH500 is pretty small so with a small enough power section that still gives a proper wallop, that would be ace. Might even fit in a 1u rack, like the MB F1. That would have me reaching for my wallet straight away!

I'm seriously thinking about ordering one. Anyone ordered anything from Basscentral in Florida before?
