1. As it says above.

I keep coming back to the Stingray because it sounds amazing, but for low B action I'll stick with a BEAD tuned 4.

So, Ideally I'm offering my Stingray 5 for your Yamaha Attitude 2. - NEW BIT: but I would consider a nice P bass with cash either way depending on what you have. I really must stop watching Steve Harris!!

My bass is immaculate and I'd like yours to be the same.

Pics are Dan's from when I bought it from him last year, hope he doesn't mind me using them.

    I'm in Northamptonshire.

    thanks

    Paul

When you say missing - (I've never seen the back of one of these) - is it not even designed with tilt back wheels in mind? That would be madness on a big cab irrespective of weight.

A heavy cab with tilt back wheels and runners on the back would be easier to move than a light one you actually have to carry.

  3.
I suppose if Les had ever made anything as memorable as the Primus stuff on his own then he wouldn't be so intrinsically linked to the band. Because to me, everything after that has just sounded like Primus offcuts, and other stuff that wasn't considered good enough for a Primus album. But they were a band of their time, so relevant with the whole "generation X" that was big in America at the time, when the Red Hot Chili Peppers were still considered edgy and fresh.

A great shame because Les and Herb are talented guys (although Les has an awful voice). Herb did two fusion albums with Michael Manring, the band was called 'Attention Deficit'. He showed some real drum chops there, but the music wasn't particularly memorable if I'm honest.
The Idiot King was a great album. Also had the benefit of Alex Skolnick too.
However, "pedalling the same tired crap failing to do anything inventive in over a decade" would still trump Chris' output on the online world which appears can be summed up as "pedaling the same tired crap and failing to do anything inventive".

    ha ha!

    +1

  5. I ran a Bass POD XT Pro (rack mount) as my live preamp for a while. Very useful and great sounds.

Look on ebay for a used kidney shaped one - might get one for under £100 if you are lucky.

Don't ignore the red guitar versions - sometimes people have already bought the bass model pack and installed it on the guitar one.

  6. I don't think it is contrived - I think that is just him. He was awsome with Govt Mule playing slap on Greasy Granny. I never would think that would work - but it does. We all have bands that fall into the "liked their early stuff, but not the new" file, but outside of our personal world more people are discovering those bands and enjoying what they do now.

That bass isn't a great looker, but it's still looks better than a Fender.

  7.
That leaves the potential for the amp to see a dead short at the filter corner frequency. The disconnect should take place before the high-pass filter.
So disconnect at the "non-tweeter" end of the wiring?

  8. I've just acquired a Mark Bass CMD 102p combo and I like it very much indeed.

The tweeter is a bit OTT (I usually turn them off / fully attenuate) but the 102p doesn't have a control on it.

Would it be safe just to disconnect the tweeter, or would there be other wiring needed?

    thanks

  9.
I am amazed this is not sold, an absolute stunner,
Everytime I look at it, I have 2nd thoughts!! I can manage an hour before the arthritis starts hurting... is that enough for a keep at home and not gig bass??

The low B is amazing in particular. Really clear.

  10. I have a 6 month old (I bought it new) Mark Bass F1 (never gigged, never been out of the house) and a TecAmp S210 2x10 cab 600W 4ohm.

I would like to trade for a combo of similar quality / value. Why? Because as I'm getting increasingly lazy I can't even be bothered to unplug cabs! So a genuine 1 hand lift for speaker and amp is what I'm looking for.

Ideally I'm looking for a Mark Bass CMD 121H combo, or the 102P (prefer the 12)

    Pics to follow later today.

I'm trying to free myself from GAS and concentrate on just playing - so the aim is to end up with 1 bass, 1 combo and a compressor / dirt pedal or two and nothing else (and use my daughter's Daisy Rock as a gig back up!).
