  1. Why use the Steinberg at all? The helix will do all that without another round of A/D conversion. It's very easy to set up for helix to record and effected signal and a straight through dry track at the same time.
  2. I recently discovered these guys, and I love it. Some absolute crackers there. I'd love to be in a band playing this sort of stuff.
  3. That's what I'd do. Maybe I'm a bit hamfisted while tuning, but I've seen a couple of similar experiences on some guitar forums.
  4. I've got a TU-3 which doesn't get used, and then a Polytune 2, a Polytune mini and a clip on Unitune. If I do ever need to buy something else it will be the Peterson Strobostomp. They've just released a smaller version too.
  5. I've had both and the TU-3 is quite annoying. Although it is supposed to be more accurate, it seems to be a lot more jumpy making it harder to use in real life.
  6. Sandberg will do 32 scales as special orders.
  7. PSA: There's a Sandberg Lionel TT4 (Jazz) on ebay. Very few of them around. If I had the money... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/145167920616?mkevt=1&mkpid=0&emsid=e11021.m43.l3160&mkcid=7&ch=osgood&euid=8f295511448e4aa8bfe51b6b5f942c2b&bu=43119054589&ut=RU&exe=0&ext=0&osub=-1~1&crd=20230703072527&segname=11021
  8. I could see a 'plate made of a ferrous material having an effect. And I can see a metal plate of any type improving shielding, but beyond those 2.... naaaaaa
  9. I've got the TC Unitune one. Same as the polytune aside from the "poly" element that doesn't work on bass. It's very good. As with all clip ones though if other people are playing loud and vibrating the body of your instrument it can get a bit confused sometimes.
  10. As their boxes are easy open I wonder if an Amazon warehouse employee has been mucking about a bit.
  11. I think Amazon will still take a return that late.
  12. Yup. I used to do bass and drums only rehearsals in between full band rehearsals. It was very useful. Timing / tightness improved loads. Also forced us to learn the songs without guitar and vocal cues. I got the idea from Mr Big. Pat Torpey and Billy Sheehan used to do it a lot.
  13. My current gig is a sight reading one, so I always wear them. The music is in focus but the other band members are not. I might have to buy some half-moons and look really old!
  14. As absolutely beautiful as that is, there is no way that is only 2.9kg. That would be 6.4 lb. The body would have to be paulownia or cedar to get anywhere near that.
  15. Youtube also can slow down stuff now too. 'Arry actually plays quite gently and in his own words only "tickles" the strings. With those massive Roto flats he uses he can have a really low action. They are way too heavy for me though. Play it as slow as you need. Don't move up a speed until it's perfect, and by perfect I do NOT mean "play until you get it right" I mean "Play it until you cannot get it wrong" That being said, and with the personal knowledge of some early arthritis, we do all have our own physical limitations. So take it easy and don't hurt yourself.
  16. I always have - but it's not automated, so often it's in the afternoon on the day after I've ordered.
  17. Drink just enough to get some teenage over confidence back.
