  1. ah damn - I had an EBS BS pedal a few years ago but I sold it! DOH!
  2. That's really useful - thank you.
  3. The launch went heavy in environmental factors and they calculate making them in Italy resulted in a far lower enviro impact. No doubt helps control the IP on the new cab material too.
  4. That certainly meets my requirements for a pedal.
  5. On the launch vid they did mention that the combo heads would now have top plates so it looks like they are ok with the idea of swapping the heads. Just a shame we'd have to buy 2 things to get the 1 we wanted!
  6. My Helix is a rack and now fully integrated into my home studio. It's my interface / soundcard etc. Would be a nightmare to pull it apart each time.
  7. For a little project I'm looking to recreate Dusty Hill's live tone. It is surprisingly filthy. And lovely: I've watched the rig rundown vids that are available and from them and from the footage from the "Raw" session it seems like he's basically using Marshall plexi types - either the JMP-1 preamp or the Magnatone head and cabs. This project is not something I can take my Helix to. So is there a Plexi based pedal with an EQ suitable for bass, maybe with a clean blend that anyone can think of? I could get any old Plexi in a Box pedal and use a Boss LS-2 for a blend but I'd like to keep the board as light as possible. ta
  8. The AG1000 has a really good EQ as well. Very useful.
  9. I've found some prices. The cabs still look really deep to me. I must look up some measurements. Doesn't matter how nice it sounds if I can't fit it in the car!
  10. What are the new prices for the new models? Not seen them yet.
  11. 10Khz can be too high (as I've often complained about in the past) but maybe they'll change the Q. a 10K centre could run from 5Khs to 15Khz if it was designed that way.
  12. My thoughts too - it's a good sounding pedal but it's not Lemmy. Would probably sell better with a different name.
  13. Lovely thing! I'm really getting into Shorties right now.
  14. Accuracy in a modeller is a fools errand. No two Marshall plexi amps ever sounded the same even if they were assembled by the same person. The only thing that matters is whether a pleasing sound can be created from it. Beyond that it doesn't matter if the models are of a JCM800 or a Solex ML10.
  15. Kemper is still going strong after 10 years. Line 6 have just done a core firmware re-write to massively lower DSP use (over 60% for some blocks!) so I'm sure it will still be around for at least another 5 years before Helix 2. Supply chain for chips and other parts is likely to be a bigger influence in designing a new version.
  16. I'm in a jazz big band. There's about 20-25 of us. We all sit down. No room to move in most venues!
  17. Chris answered my call for help and sold me a top condition Boss ODB-3. Delivered the day after doing the deal and expertly packed. Thank you for such an easy transaction.
  18. If you sit down to play then stands or ipads are fine. If you stand up and perform, then they are not and they look awful. Learn the parts.
  19. Don't the saddles usually have to be moved backwards for a larger gauge? Not forward?
  20. I think you'll struggle with flatwounds. Ideally something with a clean blend to keep the low end in your signal, and then a nasty almost fuzzy top end. Did you have a budget in mind - there's options from £25 Behringers through to £350+ Darkglass and Tech21 units.
  21. Do the short scales not have the compensated nut then?
  22. Do you need a tweeter? If not the Barefaced Super Twin would do the job. I've been very pleased with mine. Overall though - it does sound like the guitarist needs to turn down a bit too.
