  1. Great. Another video that I'll have to get my daughter to explain to me. She patronises me enough, thank you very much!
  2. Sounds good. But it is discontinued.
  3. I really like them too but they high nickel content makes my fingers blister.
  4. Andertons have always refused to weigh stuff for me over the years. Every time they've just told me that I can rely on the returns process. Even when I've pointed out that I might need to go through every one they had in stock. GG have weighed stuff, and GAK have always been really helpful for that too. Peach weigh all their stuff and put the weights and serial numbers on the website.
  5. No, GUITARGUITAR sometimes have them, and so does Classic & Cool Guitars. I ordered my Superlight Lionel through Classic & Cool. But BD usually have the best stock.
  6. You can order a Sandberg TT5 as a passive Superlight. Or find a used one and make it passive. The active one I had was under 7lb.
  7. Maybe it’s because he wants the 50 G string? He does detune quite often. It’s probably nothing more than personal preference.
  8. 13 on alto sax. 13 on bass. 16 on guitar.
  9. they are on and I’m tuned up. Might need a tiny rod adjustment but I’ll let it settle overnight before I decide. Sounding very nice though. I just tried the same settings I had used at rehearsal this morning and I liked it a lot.
  10. I will be installing them right after my takeaway!
  11. I've just bought a set to try on mine.
  12. Sandberg Basic / Custom / Classic All with adjustable string spacing for 18mm, 34 or 35 scale, 24 frets. Variety of pickup options between them.
  13. So it was a slightly narrower sweeping generalisation than you meant?
  14. I think you inspired this article https://www.thedailymash.co.uk/news/arts-entertainment/man-has-amazing-ability-to-know-all-new-music-is-stinky poo-without-listening-to-it-20170221122494
  15. Joe Dart uses the EB Group flats (not the cobalts) on his signature ray / sterling, and he uses Roto rounds on his older Max Jazz. So it depends on which version of Dean Town you like best.
  16. Afraid so. When the jack is in the pedal is activated even if it is not doing anything to your sound. Unplug it. Or get a mains power supply. When a power supply is connected it also cuts off the battery. Very useful.
  17. Not if you never turn it off!
  18. Buy the 900W version. They don't seem to have the same reliability issues.
  19. There's a dedicated thread about them
  20. And I just remembered - Sandberg built some 24 fret TT4 for Doug Johns when he swapped to Sandberg from Pedulla. So they definitely offer that option. As the necks are all the same on the TT4 / VS4 / Central basses that should be an easy option to select. The Central model is close to a stingray but you can ask for any electronics in any model. Sandberg usually ask you to submit the specs you want through a dealer to get a quote. I went through Classic & Cool Guitars for mine. Waiting list is about 12 months though.
  21. You can see them on the website, and you can custom order anything for a modest fee increase
  22. Forget-Me-Nots doesn't sound right any other way!
  23. I use it for everything. Modern Big Band, RnB, Rock. In my big band we do arrangements of everything from old 1920s stuff through to Bruno Mars. Sometimes the octave is there just because I can't be arsed to take a 5 string. Sometimes the part just needs a little thickening or funking up a bit. Quite often my sound is simple Duck Dunn, but if we go from an Aretha tune to Uptown Funk then I want a bit of variation.
  24. Yes - but not at the same time!
  25. Sandberg Classic Booster sounds very similar to a Ray.
