  1. It can happen to virtually all bridges. The only ones that seem immune are those with dedicated screws to lock the saddle in place after adjustment. I'd suggest either a tiny drop of loctite or a tiny bit of plumbers tape.
  2. @Quatschmacher Have you any experience with using a Helix to midi control any SA pedals? I've never done anything with Midi before but it seems like it could be fun to explore.
  3. The current CCK - being actually just a lightning plug to USB socket on a bit of cable - is a ridiculous £29! I like apple hardware, but their accessory prices really take the fosters!
  4. The included cables aren't really fit for modern device. Apple stuff doesn't have headphone sockets anymore, they are either lightning or USB C. So none of the cables that come with it are useful. I'll have to buy a USB C to Mini USB B cable. Source Audio should really update the units to be USB C all round. It's the way everything is going anyway - especially with the EU regs coming in for chargers / laptops etc.
  5. It's arrived and it's huge fun! No idea what the 6 presets are called, but there's 2 in particular that will be staying. The other slots will be for app experimentation.
  6. I don't think they've even set the prices yet! I keep asking them on all their social media but never get an answer.
  7. They are very different. I have a One10 as well (and used to gig a pair of them). The One series are more trad / vintage sounding than the 12XN range. The 12XN stuff is more mid pushed / punchy, but not nasal like some can get.
  8. I’ve finally got one on the way. Cant wait to get stuck in.
  9. I love my Barefaced Super Twin. 18kg, wheels, 1200W handling, 4ohms. It’s ace.
  10. they have a new fan system. Same one that is now on the Evo5. I was chatting with Ashdown about it. They said there aren’t many Evo4 in the wild with the new fan system yet, but all newly built ones are properly quiet now.
  11. From the OP's description the gear was in place and fine until the punter got involved. A bit wobbly doesn't mean negligence let alone gross negligence. If it satisfies the But For test for the involvement of the punter then the policy would be fine.
  12. It's often not a 100% or 0% issue. Split liability or contributory negligence is all part of the process.
  13. It now has some brand new D’addario 45-105 nickels on it with the action nice and low. In the past I’ve had TI flats on it and that was excellent too. Awesome for recording too!
  14. on Facebook Ashdown said they were getting plenty of customer feedback about them being too noisy hence the new quiet system. But no doubt it depends on what your use is.
  15. On Facebook Ashdown confirmed the fans are silent AND that newly built 600 have the silent fan upgrade too!
  16. I've always wondered why some bass cabs go to 20kHz. My Super Twin tops out at 4kHz and that's plenty for anything other than really cutting Marcus Miller top end - which I don't like anyway.
  17. Signal degradation on long signal runs with high end attenuation Noisy clacking when switching on and off. Often pickup environment noise The fad about true bypass started because some buffered pedals had poor quality buffers in them. Here's Vai / Zappa's guitar tech explaining it with Pete Thorn A good buffered pedal is always better than a true bypass one. "Tone suck" - usually that high end roll off - is caused by the long cable run that a TB pedal preserves because there isn't a buffer. Most amusingly the so-called boutique pedal industry has led to more TB pedals giving longer signal paths.... and because of that there is now a wide variety of standalone buffers to be mounted onto pedal boards. The pointlessness of a TB pedal has actually caused people to need a new product on their board! It's amazingly ironic. They just need to stick a Boss TU-3 at the front as a tuner and all the Tone Suck disappears instantly!
  18. Can't do it! It changes every day. Could be Sheehan one day, Dunn, then Claypool, then 'Nard, Deacon, Newsted, dUg etc etc.
  19. It's just a tweeter control. If you already have your treble control turned down quite a lot then you won't notice much if anything. On the other hand if your amp treble is at full then you'll notice more and the tweeter deals with those upper frequencies
  20. I am really enjoying this amp. It's a step up again from the Marcus Miller one I had. It's really punchy and the EQ is now my favourite on any MB amp I've had.
  21. Sandberg Superlights are probably the lightest solid body bassists around. The TT4 (jazz type) come in under 3kg They have the Lionel Shortscale that they will build as a Superlight - and the V and T style basses (P and J really) are available to order with 32 inch scales as well - and again can be ordered with the Superlight woods. It's about a year from order to delivery but you won't find anything lighter with those sorts of specs.
  22. Trent Guitars did a thread about the design on the fretboard https://www.thefretboard.co.uk/discussion/229261/i-made-a-bass/p1
  23. SOLD AND GONE. Selling this lovely Fender Urge ii Stu Hamm bass. I have owned this for years and years and it's a wonderfully sounding instrument with IMHO the best neck Fender ever put on a bass. It's somewhere between a J and a P with an oval profile that is really comfy. The only reason I'm selling is because it's 4.1kg / 9lb in weight and my medical issues mean I can't cope with that anymore. Another unique thing about the bass is the pickup arrangement. It's Jazz / Precision / Jazz with a very clever switching arrangement that controls all 3. With the switch at the rear it is just a J as you'd expect, with a balance / pan control. With the switch in the front position it is just a P. The balance control does nothing. In the middle it's all 3 pickups on - but with the Jazz pickups still controlled by the balance. So you can have Full JPJ. Or you can have the neck J with the P. Or the P with the bridge J. There's a great preamp system too that is very powerful. It's 34 inch scale and the finish is far more metallic in person. The bass is 16 years old so of course there are some little marks here and there, but so far I haven't been able to photograph them. Marks you can see in the pics are reflections from the room. I'll get outside later to take some more. It's currently got some very dusty D'Addario Pro Steels on it (40-100 iirc) but I will stick some fresh strings on - probably 45s as that's what I have. I'll finally get to use the Dunlop polish set I got for christmas too! When I got it used at least 10 years ago I didn't get a case or a bag with it, so it's collection only from Northants. I'm looking for about £1250 ono. The only trades I would consider would be Sandberg Superlights - ideally a very lightweight 5 string example, but any Superlights would interest me. EDIT - I've had some trade offers but they've all been too heavy. Max weight for trades is 3kg. So it's really only Sandberg Superlights as I don't think there's anything else that light. I'll try and do a bit of video when I get the chance. ta
  24. Bryan Beller shared this on IG, noting the NHS are doing their thing but there are still financial hardships and asking if anyone can buy a sub on Steve's bandcamp page to help out. https://www.instagram.com/p/CfpBoFbPJzl/?utm_source=ig_web_button_share_sheet
