Sounds like the best you can do is sell it and buy the right sized one. I had no idea the licensed and USA were different sizes. That's just stupid.

This. It's just not on brand. They would have done it by now if they wanted to. If FMIC decide to do one then I would expect it to be under the Charvel or Jackson brands instead. They take more risks with designs there. But even then, 6 string basses must only be a tiny percentage of total bass sales. Might not even be worth tooling up.

No doubt they'll have to update the pedals to USB C at some point - maybe they'll do a redesign at that point too. Would be very useful.

A used Barefaced Two10 would be ideal even if you have to save up a bit. Very lightweight and easy to move about. Via a convoluted route I went from Marshall VBC412 cabs (110lb each) down to a 40lb Barefaced Supertwin. The Two10 is even lighter at 31lb / 14kg. As expensive as my cab was, I have never regretted it.

If a hole is too big then plumbers tale is perfect for wrapping the bushing. But if the hole is too small / tuner too big then without drilling it is not going to fit. I never order hipshot stuff direct from them. The shipping is a nightmare. I just put an order in with Bass Direct. It gets added to their next usual order so it can take a while, but it's a lot cheaper, and it can be returned to the shop if there's a problem.

Musicman SR5 sound - but with 19 mm string spacing

Although Bassdirect ordered the two they have in stock with a 35 scale. -
Bass head with valve pre, what's good nowadays?
fretmeister replied to andydye's topic in Amps and Cabs
Darkglass amps don't have any valves in them. But they do have their drive circuits. I had a Mk1 MT900 and for cleans I always had the B7K circuit on at a really low drive level. I liked that a great deal. -

Markbass do several models with valve preamps now. The LM Tube, the Vintage and D2 etc. Worth a look. -
They announced it some time ago. I had forgotten about it. I've never done anything with midi but now I have a couple of SA pedals I might be tempted.

I quite fancy the idea of one of the M58 combos myself - I just wish the heads had a compressor in them, then I wouldn't need to take a pedal and power for it.

If you've already got the BF Two10 and an Ashdown RM head you already have one of the very lightest rigs out there. If you want to cut down set up time then the only option left is a combo. The MB 121P gets a lot of love on here, but the brand new M58 version of the Mini 121P (and Pure, etc etc) are even lighter. There's 300W and 500W versions. I don't think anyone has tried one of the M58 versions yet and all the shops are awaiting stock but as you've already got a light rig I'd be waiting to try one of the new combos. I believe there is a 2x10 version as well, but they are quite a bit larger that what you've already got. You might as well duck tape your ashdown to your Two10 and leave it connected!

Yeah - apparently on the Ashdown ones the detents can be removed, but as I'm highly likely to kill myself with anything electrical I got Dave to swap the pot. He said that was actually quicker to do.
-
I even had a cheap hifi with them on. Fortunately crap pots aren't as common these days.

String price increases. Nearly double for some.

After a bit of experimentation I think I've settled on the good old La Bella Deep Talking Flats to replace my lovely Dunlops. They are a lot cheaper these days. I've got a set on my 'Berg TT5 and they sound very good. Ideally the B would be a bit heavier than the .128 but as long as I don't really whack it the sound is good. Unfortunately they only make a B flat in that gauge. Hopefully I'll get 5 years out of them! -
I've never seen one before! I like that a great deal. Especially with the bridge in a more guitar like position.

Gary Willis Henrik Linder Billy Sheehan really - his new Dimarzio's are shaped to be a ramp. He used to do that with epoxy on the pickup top. Nate Navarro on some of his basses

@Andyjr1515 made it for me. I've got another bass to measure up so he can do another one for me.

Middle aged people become old age and the young become the middle age. Have to update it at some point.

Assuming basic performance competence, the USP of a paid covers band is the set list. A band that keeps up with the latest hits as well as keeping the classics will get more work, and keep a wider audience age range. The classics to me are not the same songs as the classics to a 20 year old. Being able to chuck in a few No1 singles from at least the last 6 months is always a crowd pleaser.

I'm not convinced anything should need to be 'overcome' when a better pot choice at the design stage would have never caused the problem in the first place.

A Sandberg TT4

On my bass. Another one on the way.

I had a vertigo which I sold as it was surprisingly heavy. I now have the sleeve. Happy with it. Much lighter.
-
Yeah - that's more what I need at the moment. I really do miss my AO though. Just a shame the prices are a lot more than when I last had one!

It really depends on the gap between the notches. I had a notched volume on my Ashdown RM800Evo2 and the gap was massive. Only 1 notch between too quiet and deafening so then I'd have to use the Input control as the volume, but that lowers drive levels. I sent it into Dave Green at Ashdown to replace the pot with a smooth one (which he did for free - what a star!). I had seen some comments about the Orange Little Bass Thing having the same issue - Too quiet and then Too Loud in 1 notch. I didn't know if the Terror Bass had the same system or had a good old standard smooth control.
