1. So.... to quote the OP, anyone off to see tedeschi trucks band in november? More specifically, tomorrow?
 2.
Well, there are all the other times someone has expressed a similarly bizarre viewpoint about McCartney ... like every time he or The Beatles are mentioned.
...and I was only observing how the quality of his work dropped off after he died...
 3. Sting, Bono, The Edge, Axl Rose.... there appears to be something of a correlation between pseudonyms and propensity to irritate.
 4.
I'm getting images of a cringing [s]David Brent[/s] Kanye West style comedy where the camera pans across and it turns out the audience member is in a wheelchair.....
Fixed.
 5. Paul McCartney.
 6.
Name and shame time. Here's yet another man who thinks it is okay to make penis jokes on a teenage girl's thread. It's tiresome mate. A form of bullying. Please stop.
Apologies for lowering the tone.
 7.
There's some great acts out there, particularly from the UK:
...which is all well and good, but do their lineups feature an insufferable tw*t?
 8. So this guy sent you a picture of his knob...
 9. Another 70s classic, vocals in at 2'53":
 10. I also thought of this one - vocal starts just before the 50-minute mark - but it's not really a song
 11. What's the song with the longest intro? The vocals start at around 2:40 in this one: which is around 56% through the track. And this one arguably pushes further in precentage terms: although there are some backing vocals before, the vocal verse starts 1:48 in, or a whopping 60%. Oddly, when thinking about track length, the first three long hits I thought of - Hey Jude, Bohemian Rhapsody and O Superman - all start with unaccompanied vocals|...
 12. Kate Bush - The Dreaming. I don't rate The Hounds of Love.
 13.
an awful lot of popular music is, was, and alway has been, quite unambiguously about shagging?
Nonsense. Consider the song I Want Your Sex, in which George is very clearly filling in a form on behalf an acquaintance and needs to know what to put in the "gender" box.
 14.
£752 with 11 minutes to go!
Wow. That was one auction where I was expecting a crazy flurry of activity in the dying seconds... as bidders rush to retract their bids!!
 15.
Bryan Adams' 'Summer of '69' -- the last line of vocal before the outro guitar bit is "me and my baby in a 69". All the lyrics sites will tell you it's "...in '69", but the 'a' is definitely there.
Well what do you expect from a song that starts Had my first real sex dream I was five at the time...
 16.
+1 Obscene that he recieved no recognition - if only for inspiration. He took Cameron to court over it but guess who won?
I didn't know he'd sued, but I remember reading an article by a writer, who, on seeing Avatar, was really excited to find that Dean had been involved with the film... except he hadn't And yet Blurred Lines' authors had to pay millions to the estate of Marvin Gaye.... I guess whoever has the "best" lawyer wins.
 17.
Is there anyone here that has tackled this piece and could you give me any advice?
Yes! I've tackled this piece - but as one of the actor/singers, so I can't give you any advice regarding the bass part. Other than to watch the conductor
 18. What would James Cameron's Avatar have been without Roger Dean?!
 19.
All Suzi Quattro's early stuff is in 4/4 time
When did she add the second 't' to her surname? As part of a later deal with Audi....?
 20.
Obviously not as concerned about recycling back then, I suppose. How things change.
Au contraire, the turgid teens made sure they were used again...
 21. I don't think the sound needs to be repeated to be musical: consider the sound made by a professional cellist playing a single note, compared to the sound of me trying to do the same. Of course there's repetition on a micro level, as the waveforms repeat (and vary).
 22.
That's a completely different scale not just different key.
Ah, you spotted the deliberate mistake! I meant D flat major and C sharp major...
 23.
There must be something psycho-aural going on. Transposing tunes from a sharp key to a flat key definitely affects the sound. Even if its not backed up by the maths/physics.
You don't even have to transpose... I for one would think of a piece in D flat minor as being somehow "softer" than the same piece in C sharp major.
 24.
(ass advertised in the Gratton catologue)...
Yes, the underwear and swimsuit sections were always very popular
