I love what other people do with 5/4 but I struggle with writing anything in it.
I get an idea first, then work out what time sig it's in later!

I'm very partial to a slow 3/2 - or 4/4 alternating with 2/4, or 2/4 in three-bar phrases, however you want to cut it! http://youtu.be/juPZ-oJBd10
I blame Markbass with their thoughtlessly named New York range of combos!
But how were they to know there was a city of the same name a basschatter might want to visit? 😆

I think you were imagining it! I had a CV P with D'Addario Chromes on (which are quite high tension) and no problems. Enjoy that P+flats goodness!
It teleports you to 1993!
Is that the Time Before Shape? -
I have a similar thing with my Ibanez GWB35... I just turn it up!

Out of interest (with apologies for slight hijack), where's your amp technician? I have a bought-secondhand out-of-warranty CMD121P with a not-working DI out. I'm on the London/Kent borders and it would be good to drop it off somewhere by car rather than lugging it into central London by public transport!

So who played on this one? Was it Dill - or perhaps Herbie Flowers? http://youtu.be/3VdN-2RYPKg

This... it took some rummaging as I could only remember it was a current affairs programme but not which one! http://youtu.be/95qLDc7zwYY

Tennessee 15 string - how much??????
ras52 replied to winterfire666's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
Down to £1750 now... that's quite a drop from ten million! -
Camden have still announced proposals to demolish numbers 1–6 and 17–21 Denmark PLACE (not street), which run parallel along the back of the street,
I was there on Wednesday - I'm surprised there's anything left of Denmark Place, pretty much all I could see is the back of the north side of Denmark Street! And yes, much love for Wunjo's... I'd broken the plastic top off the pickup selector switch on my BB425, and Wunjo's had the replacement that various electrical and hardware shops had failed to provide!
Look at the state of those strings!
Was it salvaged from a shipwreck?!?
-
This one raised a chuckle too: http://www.joinmyband.co.uk/classifieds/drummer-wanted-for-jamming-t918179.html
😆

And it's currently at £41 from a start of £5 so it looks like it's paying off!

Bought a funky little Harley-Benton U-Bass from Josh... nice smooth transaction and it kept my bored teen amused on the drive home
Mick would be better as well as fretless...
Tell that to the seller ;-)
-
it sounds like the seller may not exactly be an expert!
Nick Karn is one of my favourite freet-less players!

Ashdown Dual Band Compressor £40 posted (UK), or collect from Bromley (BR2) or central London (WC2A) and save £3! A lovely beast of a box. No box or instructions, but here's the blurb: Designed to deliver a sophisticated, great-sounding compressor in a simple pedal format, our Dual Band Compressor is a must have tool for any modern bass player's rig. Dual Band Compression While standard compression can sound great, Dual Band Compression takes control to a whole new level. Splitting the signal into high and low frequency bands lets us apply compression independently to each – fast attack and decay for the high frequency and slow attack and decay for the deep bass. This approach let's you fine tune a powerful, punchy sound to your exact requirements – increasing sustain, smoothing out dynamics, adding definition or even boosting volume. Setting the level Whether you're using an active or passive bass, the Ashdown VU meter in combination with the Input level knob let's you easily find the sweet spot, ensuring you get the best possible tone in and out whatever instrument you're using. Built for the road We know the rigours of the live gigging, that's why we build our pedals tough enough for whatever the road throws at them. Metal casings, premium controls and switches, recessed knobs and kickguards to protect screens and VU meters – bring it on! True Bypass Switching We don't mess with your tone. Ashdown Pedals feature genuine 'true bypass' switching for zero-colouration of your input signal when the pedal isn't in use. The Output level control lets you dial in the perfect balance between the effect and the true bypass level.
