1. Thought I'd add some photos of the 83 Spoiler, recently brought back to life by Jon S. it was in a really bad state when I got it (might add some B4/after shots). Sorry - I didn't clean the inside of the case (Alembic) before taking the photos (!):-
2. Seem to have 2x 13/64 (5.0mm) of the Fender (bondhus) 'T'(red) keys but to have lost the 3/16 key. Looking to swap !
3. Thanks to a fellow BC'er I have an update on this Leduc instrument, with comments from Chistophe Leduc:- This bass was designed by Christophe Leduc and built by Japanese luthier Seinosuke Sano. It is an elegant, feather-light instrument. This particular model does not have the piezo pick-up that the French-constructed basses do, but rather two Bartolini pick-ups. It does share with the French basses a feature that Leduc calls a "free" sound table, which is the light wood piece you see in the center of the bass. The wood is cross-braced like an accoustic guitar top and sits over an open shell of a back. It is in essence a hollow-body bass, but with the thin profile of a solid body. The bass plays beautifully, requires a very light touch, and has a warm, woody sound that is almost like chocolate. Because it is such a rare instrument, I wrote to Mr. Leduc in France to find out where it came from and how to price it. Here is his reply: ...........“Thanks for your mail and pics. This bass was manufactured by Seinosuke Sano, Japan in 1992, 1993 and 1994. It uses the tail piece I make for my own production. I have no idea of the retail price in the U.S., I guess it was between $2000 and $3000 dollars. It's a rare instrument, about twenty pieces have been made. … Let me know what will happen to your bass!..........." Best regards, Christophe Leduc”
4. Claudio bought a Fender FMT Jazz from me. Quick decision, quick payment and excellent communication throughout. Very easy / pleasant to deal with - would happily do so again and recommend to all BC'ers.
5. Leduc U.Bass with lightweight swamp ash body, floating spruce top, 3-piece maple neck, and lined ebony f/board. Features the "floating" top: hybrid solid-body / acoustic bass, the ash body is hollowed out and the bridge rests on a floating spruce top braced like an acoustic.

8. Quilt/Amber-Black-Burst Xotic XB-2/5 http://www.bassdirec...2_5_Walnut.html http://www.bassdirec...odel_range.html http://www.xotic.us/guitars/ Not seen so often outside the USA but found this ".... I met Carmine Rojas (who currently play with J.Bonammassa) last year and he played with one XB-2 ..... otherwise I could never know the quality of this bass because this brand is unknown in France...."

11.
That's a really nice version,I have one with of these early ones,if my ibanez knowledge is correct, this is mc900nt (22 frets, pre 80),the later mc924 had 24 frets and the 940 was the fretless version of the 924,I think. Still a really rare finish! Good luck with the sale...
Thanks! That's really useful info. - I will alter the title/description accordingly
12.
I'm pretty confident that those babies are about to become THE big vintage bass, and that is a splendid example in every possible way. Good luck with the sale David, if it was FL it would have been at Beedster Towers one day after you'd listed it
Thanks Chris - you could well be right. Not seen a fretless version of this model ... they can always be removed, of course, but seems a shame to change from original.
13. This is, I think, quite a rare example / sold !
