1. Thanks guys for +++ Commments (and associated BUMP's) ... taking offers on this / collection much preferred !!
2. OK - I'm attaching some photos here (of the diagram of what I've tried and am continuing trying to do... plus the current wiring connections) in the hope that someone will be able to advise as to what's wrong / needed. Bass was acquired as a project: it had (has) 3x J pickups linked - originally - to a single Volume (only)! Strange-but-true. PLayed OK, but sound/options were so limited (ie. one-only!). SO ... I decided, using the attached SD diagram, to add a tone pot + 3x mini-switches (of the correct 'spdt' specification) so that (I thought) 1/2/3 pckups could be on or off, and tone varied. Good idea ?!? Despite working very carefully (the mini toggles are sods to work with!) following the diagram, I now have the following: the bass plays and the volume still works. But the tone (which has zero effect when turned right down/off) seems to gradually reduce the volume and introduce hum when increased; the mini togles do nothing (well, they are 'on' in both directions). Help !! ?? !!!
3. Barcus Berry is now SOLD !! Other two are curently on ebay, so if you were considering - need to PM before end of this week.
4. Still haven't got around to ebaying these .. a final BUMP b4 doing so .....................
5. Impeccable Ampeg quality & engineering! Cool little Flip Top Bass Combo. With the Transistor Head flipped and attached to the top, this has 100 Watts RMS) of Output and 1x15" Speaker. I've owned this versatile amp for a while and it really is fantastic: super loud, a massive range of tones and awesome retro looks/concept. Ampeg B15-Ts were introduced in the early 90s as a limited edition transistor version of the much-sought-after valve flip-tops they produced in the 60s/70s. These are hard to come by now and, unfortunately I need to let mine go. It has been moderately gigged and there are a few minimal scuffs as you'd expect (see the pics) but these don't detract from the overall cosmetics and generally excellent condition. Recently serviced by a technician so it is in tip-top working condition. The unit is pretty heavy (but it does have a decent set of castors) so collection might be best if not-too-distant. But I can package if required. The original castors are not currently fitted (as in some of the photos) but are located inside the cab, along with the original aluminium post, which allows the unit to be to tilted back. Specs: Imput @ 0db or -15db; EQ= Gain, Low (with Pull/Ultra-Low), Low-Mid (P/shift), High-Mid (P/shift), High (P/Ultra High); FX Loop (in/out); Master Vol (Pull/Limiter), Balanced Line-Out Level; Ground Polarity Switch (+ 0 -). Top Diagram (see Photos). Rear Panel: Speaker Out w. On / Mute 100RMS @ 4ohms; Bal. Line Output, Headphones socket, Power Amp Imput, Pre-Amp Output. Becoming very rare now (I think?) ..
6. .. some interest (after the customary ebay failure - why do these multitudes of Window-Watchers get-up ones hopes?.. and elsewhere!!) ... but nothing confirmed as yet. Couple of useful Reviews (both very positive):- http://reviews.harmony-central.com/reviews...6+Fretless/10/1 http://reviews.harmony-central.com/reviews.../Diamond+D/10/1 .. and relevant: both are fretless basses (one 5, one 6), and this bass is a combination of the Grace + Diamond-D concepts/features: with the Grace body, headstock and 24F neck matched to the Diamond-D MM+J pickups and more extensive EQ/controls (can be checked-ou on the Devon website).
7. BUMP ing .. as didn't sell on ebay. This really is an exceptional 5'er - superb build quality & EQ, 34" scale, OHSC, rare.
8. Was anybody else (other than me) conned by this guy? Sent (as requested) £5 by post. Received nothing. Promised several times subsequently .. Received zilch. It's a small amount (unless lots of us also sent £5 for the dj150888 Appeal Fund) ... but really annoying.
9. Update:- BQuad4 SOLD. TL-5 now on ebay (and attracting number of Watchers!...) :- http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...=STRK:MESELX:IT
10. Looks like the BIN Buyer might have been disappointed - seems to have resurfaced with the same Seller (who doesn't have the greatest FeedBack) with £399 increased to £699 :- http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...e=STRK:MEWAX:IT
11. Yes the unit is generally supplied without ('optional extra') I think: this has the wired hand-control. I assume the wireless will be more expensive. The wire is very long (!).
12.
Interesting looking thing. Your second link isn't working though. Allow me... linky
... thanks Ou7' .. not sure what happened re. the link(?).
13. Soundblox Tri-Mod Wah pedal - bought here on BC and used only briefly for a short period/project. The Tri-Mod Wah is an evolutionary outgrowth of the original Hot Hand® Wah Filters system in a compact and accessible format. There are 11 Wah effects that range from Classic Wah through Low, Band Pass and Multipeak variations, that can all be further modified using either a Hot Hand® motion controller, LFO (Low Frequency Oscillator) or Envelope Follower. Basically it uses a ring with an accelerometer in it so it wah's to your hand movement:- DEMO: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rS6xjGr0VP0 It does a whole range of wah and filter sounds - this is not your ordinary wah, firstly it's got 11 different types with everything from filter to classic wah, but the best part is that with a Hot Hand controller (Included) it wah's to your hand movement(s). If you're playing slap bass with it on you get the most expressive and responsive filter sound ever. Only used at home, still got the box and everything - brand new, boxed, no velcro with 1 Hothand controller, 1 hothand extension, sweatband and a few different ring sizes. And, for maximum effect - the ring glows blue You can read about it here. http://www.sourceaudio.net/products/soundb...tri-mod_wah.php "All Soundblox™ effects pedals are compatible with the Hot Hand® Motion Controller — available in wireless or wired configurations — or an extensive range of on-board controls. Soundblox pedals provide a wide variety of original sounding effects in a sleekly designed, rugged package that is easy to use and highly flexible." £99 incl.
14. Decided to try on ebay .. will probably remove if not significant Watchers/Bids/Offers - but will accept same (incl.) for the week.

16. This has been up on the bay a couple of time now - I think it's probably way over-priced (altho' does include 'Make-Offer') . The N0----- seems right for 90/91... But, what is it?.... not seen a Fender USA J5 like this before:- http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...e=STRK:MEWAX:IT
17.
The Rudy Szarzo is also on my list
'ere_ya_go Del' boy :- http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...e=STRK:MEWAX:IT Looks to be in great condition and a good price as such: all you need to do now is persuade the seller to send to the UK and work out the additional shipping & duties. The photos show how similar is the design/construction to the TL-5 (I guess they were offered at about the same time), with the slightly altered headstock, different pickups and finish (with the nech-thru section left natural). OK - some additional details (as promised) re. this TL-5:- Weighs only 8.8 lbs ! 34"/24-fret. 1&7/8" nut (with 10mm spacing), 2&3/4" (15mm spacing) @ 24th fret, 17.5mm (adjsutable) spaving at the bridge. Eastern Flame Maple body and neck. Ebony f/board with 12" radius, 2x super-ferrite (hum-cancelling) pickups, Schaller bridge, all gold hardware, quick change batter compartment (with original cover). The bass is a true passive (+ active) bass - when the batteries are dead or removed it still plays (with Vol/Pan). The usual things to go/change are the pickups, knobs and battery compartment - seen a few examples with these changed-out or removed. The cases tend to become a bit battered over time (see the Rudy Sarzo example above) so it's nice to have one that's in almost as good 'nick as the bass. Note: the strap-pins/locks have been upgraded on this bass. I think they were originally Schaller; they are now Dunlops (and come with the strap attachments). Also, the D & G tuners have been changed for newer ones (from Peavey USA) and are slightly shorter than the original ones (I think PV changed supplier of such and other parts over the years) so it's tricky to get a full/solid grip on the barrels (although this does not affect the stringing & tuning of the bass at all).
18. OK ... BQuad4 is now ON-HOLD/sold(pending): thanks - to various BC'ers- for some ++++ comments, mainly on this bass; with which I wholeheartedly agree. The BQ4 is an exceptional instrument... and the new owner (if/when completed) will then have both fretted and fretless BQ4's, which is something special ! The TL5 remains available .. and is also something of a generally unknown and possibly underrated 5'er. If you're looking for an extremely well-made, sleek neck-thru and 34" scale 5 you'd be hard pushed to find something better at the price. Peavey did a very similar 4'er (briefly) developed with/for Rudy Sarzo, which is also hard to find. I think the specs are provided on the PV site (link in OP) but I can add some here if required.
19. Here's a couple of classic Peavey basses, which I had hoped to keep for posterity but now need to shift (at least one, maybe both) - from probably the best era of Peavey basses prior to the current Cirrus models. Both were built for and/or with noted players: one's a 4 with a unique style body and exceptional EQ (+); one's a neck-thru five with a very sleek neck and overall feel. Peavey 'TL-5' 5 string bass. This beautiful bass was one of Peavey's first entries into the higher-end market. Made in the USA (for/with Tim Landers - they also did a TL-6 with weird, triangular 'dot' markers) - it's a 34" neck-through, with a 12" radius ebony fingerboard. The overall sound of this bass is a warm, articulate, modern one. The B string is as clear as many 35's and 34"/5's produced only by the top builders. Other than the minor (surface) scratches to rear and a small ding to the neck the bass is almost perfect. There are no other nicks, scrapes, or bumps anywhere else. Anything that looks like a ding in the photos is possibly just reflection. The finish is pretty amazing for a bass of its age. Electronics, neck, truss rod, etc, are all perfect, and the frets have plenty of life left in them. It's one of the '86 (to 90/91) models with Volume, Pan, Bass-Mid-Treble EQ, with a 'bypass' (active-Passive) switch. From 91 they changed the set-up to Vol, Pan, stacked mid+freq. and stacked Bass/treble (no passive option) Harmony Central reviews are here. Ships in the original HSC (PV logo) - also in good condition. There's also the original handbook (pamphlet) http://reviews.harmony-central.com/reviews...eavey/TL-5/10/1 Peavey B-Quad 4 bass Peavey B-Quad 4 Fretted bass in its original case. The B-Quad 4 was designed by Brian Bromberg and it had (in its day.. and even now) a lot of advanced features: the bass has a Modulus graphite neck, a typical two pickup 18v active pre-amp setup, but it also has built-in piezo pickups on each string's bridge that go into an onboard stereo mixer. You can pan the strings left to right, or send two strings to a separate EQ or processing loop (!) etc. Check out some of Brian Bromberg's early work if you've not heard the bass before. Some specs./details: Blue, flame maple body. Beautiful 2 octave Modulus graphite neck w/ Phenolic fingerboard. Active electronics. Piezo bridge saddles with individual volume and pan controls on preamp - also stereo outputs jacks. There's a master volume, piezo volume, piezo tone, stacked pickup volume(s), stacked Bass.Treble (EQ) and a stereo-mono switch. The individual string volume(s) and panning effect(s) are adjustable via the 8 holes in the rear cover. Two of the original black saddles were replaced with factory gold saddles which I've refinished in black to match. This bass has its share of nicks and dents although it's not bad overall. The photos tend to make it look slightly more green (than the aqua-blue it is actually). Comes with Peavey skb style form fitted case (slightly rough but still fully functional). Here's a review of the B-Quad:- http://www.bgra.net/2004/review.php?id=1988&type=bass I'm initially pricing both - the BQ4 was a much more expensive bass originally ($2k+), but that’s probably matched by the almost mint condition of the TL5 (it's not an easy bass to find, and I've never seen one this 'mint'). Full specs are easily sourced on the Peavey website: http://www.peavey.com/assets/literature/manuals/80302039.pdf (BQ4) http://www.peavey.com/assets/literature/manuals/80300932.pdf (TL5)
