3. Original 'Fender' neck-plate: offered to Gareth, but wrong style/era:- Just been 'sorting' (again) - I have one of the "Fender" (original / slightly angled across the plate-chrome) rectangular with 4x corner holes + micro-tilt hole. Still in the Fender packaging & includes the 4x screws. The plate may have been fitted briefly (can't recall what/when/why) as there are a few minor surface scratches. £SOLD
4. Interest/Offer(s) - this is also ebayed, but wanting to clear asap.
5. .. few days to run on ebay. As usual, plenty of 'Watchers' ..
6. In the process of finding a matching neck 'J' p/up (with raised A & D poles) - so thought I'd try this here in case anybody is looking for an excellent bridge/J either as replacement or project (P/J ?... should work well there due to the raised A+D config.). If it sells, I'll buy a set later. If I find the matching neck p/up I'll remove. details:- " Lindy Fralin's Jazz Bass Replacement Style and P-Bass Style replacement pickups offer a loud, clear and even response to four string bass players. Using ALNICO V magnets and 42 gauge Heavy Formvar wire, they are all hand wound to vintage specifications. J Bass Replacement Pickups are wound to 8 K neck and 8.5 K bridge. (P Bass Replacement Pickups are wound to10 K.) 'Raised Poles' are a version of the single coil 4 string J pickup that has raised pole pieces on the A and D strings to compensate for tight radiused J basses."... I THINK these are very slightly shorter (i.e. longest dimension / 'width' when pickup is mounted into rout/body) than trad. Fender J's, but will check and add to post. £sold !!
7. Oh well.. it's all-over now, bar the shouting. 2-bids / £631 doesn't seem a lot for what was advertised as an Original 78P .. or is it about right? maybe others were put-off for/by various reasons/checks. Interestingly, the winner - Robbosax - is also locally based: he has lots of Sax stuff up on ebay, but none of the sax players I know seem to know him (but then they are not really much involved in ebay). Most of the 43 items didn't sell - but those that did netted some £6k, with 14 still 'on' and a potential of another £5k (with some already selling/bids). Everything within a week or 10-days, so if it is a scam with PP or other non-cash & collect sales it could be lucrative. Feedback hasn't changed from (2) + 90-days: although that's understandable with all the sales being so recent. I'll try to follow-up and reveal all in due course !!
8. Been sorting-out and found three booklets which I neatly filed away (.. probably should have been sent out with items - Sorry - although the LW is a copied version). 1. Roland Cube Bass 100 Owners Manual(A4) 2. Variax Bass Pilots Handbook (A5) 3. LightWave Music Operating Manual (A5) If you own one of the above and are missing (..possibly 'in-action' re. the Variax) the booklet, drop me a PM or post here.
9. Now on ebay:- http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...E:IT&ih=006 £935 (incl.) on BC
10. NO reply to text as yet - maybe I'll call him before the P ends on Sunday or Monday. It just seemed a bit odd (apart from the Yuletide Greeting / reply... then no reply to text) that he'd not done anything for the past 90+ days (registered late 07 I think, with just (2) feedback) and then to have 40+ items which end from this evening until Monday evening and which, if they were to all sell at current/start prices would yield some £15,500+ I agree with all the sensible observations above (although I've not had time to view all the various items/photos) - but wonder if the 'Collection OK' was maybe a default choice or a double-bluff: I'm not sure how many items sold from such a list might be subject to a personal collection.... (OK - who said ..."who would go to Middlesbrough if they could possibly avoid it ?!!" - I'll see you outside) As it's a local one, I'll keep track if possible to see what happens. + if anybody here was planning to bid (or bidding) on the P bass, I'd be happy to check it out for them if won. Not sure if any of the BC Community would/should be bidding on the 'other' stuff (!!)
11. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FENDER-USA-1978-PREC...A1%7C240%3A1318 .. not sure if anybody here is watching this, but might be one to proceed with extreme caution. The seller has 43 items ending in the next 3+ days - mostly high-end guitars, but also some FX pedals etc. and this attractive 70's fender P. I sent a message (he's supposedly based in Stockton or Middlesbrough - both close to my location) asking to see/try the instrument and recevied the following reply:- " Hi There, Thanks for your kind email it is much aprieciated. Please keep watching my listings. Can I wish you a very happy Christmas to yourself and your family Best Wishes - rollinghome63 " .. very nice/seasonal, but not really what I was expecting (!!). Feedback is limited (2) and both these beyond 90-days. I've sent a text to the no. provided .. no response (as yet).
12. Thanks John! OK - update / PRICE REDUCTION : - as I'll try to get this onto ebay by the w/end @ £999 + P&P .. realise this could potentially cost me a minimum of about £60 in ebay fees and Paypal. So, now available here on BC for £935 - remember, this includes Courier + the additional neck but no case or gig-bag (which I'd be happy to source at cost if required) £935 inclusive !!
13. SoundKing Bass 20 - has: Imput, Volume, EQ- Treble / Mid / Bass, Presence, HeadPhones. Dimensions: 30 x 32 x 19 (cm) / 14lbs. Fine for home use and practice. Definitely struggles with anything beyond this, but the sound is OK as a practice/home unit and the h/phoes socket is useful In excellent/clean condition - home use only (for obvious reasons!) £22 plus P&P (which should be <£10 via Std. parcel or P2Go, so about £30 overall) .. reduced to £25 (delivered)
14. Thanks for the +++ comments John .. and delighted you're still enjoying the Zon !! BTW, did you see this (?):- http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...A:IT&ih=021 ... would make a great FL partner for the fretted Zon although it's a steep price (.. ask them if they'll release for what you paid for yours !!...) Not moving onto a 5'er (Pedulla?) as yet ?!...
15. Thanks Josh - wasn't that a blue one (4)?.. sold on ebay some time back.
16. Hi Golchen I'm based up in the NE (M'bro / Teesside area). Not sure if you could get to try one locally (?where?) but there must be quite a few knocking about. Not sure where the ebay one is, but appears to be a shop possibly. The UK dealers are Mansons * (Exeter):- http://www.mansons.co.uk/shopping/categori...a-bass-guitars/
17. Good thinking Ped - possibly a simple fix: for somebody with the right tools - the problem(s) I had, before giving-up and opting for an original, replacement neck, is that the truss-rod metal is VERY hard (so difficult to work or change with layman's tools). Sensible move (of yours) to use basses that don't use a truss-rod !! .. although, TBH, I've not had such problem before. Thanks for the positive comments - the Rapture(s) are very different to the MVP's but I do like this particular colour & p/up combination. The 5s neck is very slim and with a really big radius, so quite 'easy' & accessible.
18. Reciprocal feedback for Matt / OW#1 - very pleasant, easy guy to deal with and sent payment quickly. Highly recommended for BC wheels & deals... !!
19. PEDULLA RAPTURE PJ 5 STRING BASS GUITAR - PEACOCK BLUE TRANSLUCENT. Top-line bass - the neck has been replaced with a brand new one from Pedulla (USA). The old neck is also included and could be changed to fretless; it works fine on the bass, but currently has no truss rod adjustment (hence the new neck, which Mike Pedulla managed to make identical to the original !!) as the top, square adjuster was worn. There IS tension in the (old) neck and, with the right strings, it will sit nice-and-straight and perform perfectly. It may be possible to somehow fix the existing top/adjuster or to add something to it, or to replace it. It has the matching headstock (both necks), + truss rod cover, and there is a brand-new Bone nut for completing the old neck (the original nut fitted perfectly into the new one!). The new neck is really beautiful, as can be seen in the photos. The design is really comfortable and the PJ-Bartolini (Vol., Pan, Bass + Treble EQ) works great. The PJ option seems to be the most popular and the peacock-blue / figured maple is very pretty….. Here's some info. re. the bass (from Pedulla) The Rapture is a “modern vintage” design, with a satin finish bolt-on neck. The Rapture’s thinner, racier design combines a single flatsawn hard maple neck and a solid soft Eastern maple body. This combination sets the stage for a classic sound enhanced by a smooth midrange and a bright high-end. Specially tailored active electronics bring out the Rapture’s unique tonal range with an extra wide attack. The active electronics include master volume, pickup pan, and treble and bass boost/cut controls. The Rapture has a machined brass "barrel" bridge which imparts the more traditional sound wanted from a bolt on. DETAILS/OPTIONS: BODY: Plain soft maple (Rapture) : NECK: Bolt-on : SCALE LENGTH: 34 inches : FINGERBOARD: figured maple : NUMBER OF FRETS: 22 : INLAY: 5mm mop : NUT: Bone : TRUSS ROD: Single, double acting adjustable with two stiffening bars WEIGHT: 8.8 lbs. : HARDWARE COLOR: Chrome (Rapture) : BRIDGE: Machined brass barrel : MACHINE HEADS: M. V. Pedulla/Gotoh STRAP PINS: Gotoh : PICKUPS: Made for MV Pedulla by Bartolini PJ : ELECTRONICS: Active, Bartolini : CONTROLS: RB: vol, pan, treble, bass : FRETTED: Yes : FINISH: Gloss Polyester, Satin urethane neck : COLOUR: Peacock Blue (trans.) : RRP: £1850 There's one currently on ebay:- http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...A:IT&ih=024 @ £1299 obo. - not such a nice colour and also s/h) which is where this one may end-up. No case for it, although it fits std. cases / bags and I could probably source one for it if required (non-original, unless very lucky). It DOES have the Pedulla Truss-Rod tool, Manual etc. £= SOLD !!
