Crate BT50 - Combo c/w Footswitch. Octave etc.
eubassix replied to eubassix's topic in Amps and Cabs For Sale

Had absolutely no intention of buying this (for son, who's since lost interest) from Sound Control: but when comparing similar units, this was head-and-shoulders above the others in the same price range (£150) Distortion channel is unused (no idea why they included it TBH) but the Octave is OK and the built-in (top) tuner very handy. Good sound, size and features. I've included as much info. as possible (below) re. the specs etc. Certainly not a high-end Combo, but works well for practice, small venues and is in mint condition with Crate Footswitch included. £SOLD !!! collected, or could arrange Courier Crate BT50: 50W and a 12" bass driver. 2 channels: a distortion channel with gain, shape, and level controls; and a clean channel with level, 4-band EQ, and an octave switch with level for boosting bottom end. It includes the CSF2 2-button footswitch for switching channels and kicking in the octave switch from the floor. Limiter, chromatic tuner, headphone jack, and CD inputs are also incorporated. Crate BT50 The Front Panel: INPUT: GAIN: SHAPE: Distortion channel. LEVEL: CHANNEL SWITCH: When using the footswitch: when this button is in the out position, the Clean channel is always active, and the footswitch turns the Distortion channel on and off, allowing you a blend of both channels. LEVEL: output level of the Clean channel, and as part of the Octave level control NOTE: employs an internal noise gate to keep residual noise to a minimum. Regardless of which channel is selected, the Clean channel's Level control (#6) must be turned up above "0" in order for the noise gate to trigger. LOW: LOW MID: HIGH MID: HIGH: OCTAVE: MASTER: CD INPUT: HEADPHONES: POWER: ELECTRONIC TUNER (top panel): constant, "real-time" tuning. The tuner is fully chromatic. The Rear Panel (not shown): AC LINE CORD: FOOTSWITCH: Crate CFP-2 for remote control of the channel selection/"blend" and octave on/off. EXTERNAL SPEAKER: internal speaker is disconnected when the external speaker jack is used. LakLand Duck Dunn. + Lakland G/bag. Excellent/Mint

Lakland Duck Dunn in excellent/mint condition and comes in a really nice Lakland gig bag. Currently looks very classy as fitted with a mint green pickguard (but with the rather more stark original White pickguard included) and some very purple strings, which might not be to everyone's liking; but they do play/feel really good. Probably the best & easiest playing 'P' bass I've ever used (the neck is much more J than P and the bass has a nice low, easy action. Also lighter weight). For those who don't know the model, here's some bumph re. the instrument and the player:- Duck Dunn Signature Skyline Model bass. This one retains the familiar body style but adds a thinner neck with block inlays and fingerboard binding. An instant classic! High-grade features include a hand wound split “P” pickup, ash body with flat-sawn maple neck, rosewood fingerboard with 20 frets and fast-playing 34″ scale, Lakland Dual Design bridge, and Hipshot licensed tuners. Nut Width: 1.5″ Nut Type: Delrin Fret Size: .041/.085″ Width at Final Fret: 2.5″ 1st Fret Neck Depth: .77″ 12th Fret Neck Depth: .94″ Fingerboard Radius: 10″ Fingerboard Blocks and Binding. Scale Length: 34″ Frets: 20 Bridge String Spacing: .78″ Neck Wood: Flat-Sawn Maple Body wood(s): Ash Fingerboard: Rosewood Tuners: Hipshot Licensed Truss Rod Access: Neck Heel: 5/32″ Hex Pickguard: White Controls: Volume/Tone Bridge: Lakland Dual Design Pickups: Split-Coil Humbucker Duck Dunn’s grooving bass is part of a ’60s sound so distinctive that it is referred to as the “Stax Sound” to this day. He’s backed Otis Redding, Wilson Pickett, and Albert King; he’s worked with everyone from Roy Buchanan to Bob Dylan, and Rod Stewart to Muddy Waters and Neil Young. With Booker T. and the M.G.s, Duck recorded bass parts so undeniably funky that they have influenced generations …. (etc.) This came to me in a trade deal (previous BC owners): it's a very nice bass but I need to sell something(s) and this isn't going to be used, really. £ SOLD which includes delivery by 24-hour Courier. I do have more photos, if you PM your email address (as I don't want to add too many here)

Yep, dots and binding. The birdseye maple is also stunning (doesn't really show well in the photo). Still, if you're building for such a high profile player, then you're likely to pull-out the stops; or maybe it was specified by Me'Shell.

After waiting AGES (think years rather than months) for the (re)completion of this bass, thought I'd post it here .. as, whilst it's very much just a Jazz bass, it's quite a special one:- Chris Celinder has completely refurbished the bass and returned it to (almost) its original spec. - as it was when Me'Shell first owned the bass. The only change(s) is/are to the EQ and knobs/switches: apparently, the stacked 2EQ and front mounted jack didn't work very well, so it's been updated to the current 'Update' spec. With an additional on/off switch to compensate for the additional (front) hole. It's a very attractive bass and really does play like a dream. However, I've decided that I won't be keeping it, so will place into the classifieds etc. once I have some idea of what it might be worth .. it's effectively a new Celinder Update, but it seems the original ownership might add to the value (.. particularly in Japan, I'm told, for some reason)...

A few things to clear - previously used (or planned for use) but all in new/good condition. 1. Bass Mute (as new + instructions etc.) for 5s bass. From the BM website: The BassMute · Activated with a simple flick of your finger. · Fits almost any bass. · Adjustable for string-spacings between 16 and 20 mm¹. · Two positions for different degrees of muting . · Can be used for only muting the low B on 5 & 6-string basses. · In addition to "Slapping" and "Tapping", the style of playing with muted strings as used by players like James Jamerson, Rocco Prestia, Anthony Jackson, has become popular again. The simplest way to imitate the sound and playing style of these players is by muting the strings with the palm of your hand and picking the strings with your thumb. The disadvantage of using this technique is that it limits your playing speed and the freedom to pick the strings in different positions towards the neck. Using a piece of rubber foam to mute the strings could solve this problem, but it is not really handy fumbling it under the strings between different songs. For this reason some manufacturers of basses were providing in a muting system on their bridges. The adjustability and results were not always satisfactory, so in the end they were hardly used. In cooperation with Edwin van Huik from the Bass Connection in the Netherlands, luthier Ellio Martina designed a new muting device for bass guitars. The original idea was to design a muting device with excellent muting capabilities, to be engaged quickly and easy to install on almost all known models of basses being around. The Bassmute presented here, is the final result of our efforts. Within the physical limitations of a minimum height between the bass' body and the strings plus enough room between the rear pickup and the bridge to install, we believe we succeeded. €113 (incl P & P) so about £90 new http://www.bassmute.com/bassmute/bm_start.html Complete and with spare rubber mutes (set) although the ones fitted are still mint. Screws there/never used (.. you can fit with h/duty double sided tape if you want to avoid screwing into the body of a precious instrument) £SOLD 2. BOSS BT-2 Tuner. Still works great (been carefully boxed throughout and used only occasionally. Needle + lights tuning with in/out & bypass. Also has 'flat' (semitone) tuning. £18 (Incl. P&P) 3. GOTOH Chrome Bridge (unused) £SOLD 4. A.N.Other Chrome (Fender J/P style) - unused - £10 (incl P & P). 5. Sterling HS metal/Chrome pickguard. Looks great and is extremly well-made . but also very heavy (cf. a std. plastic PG). £22 (incl. P & P) .. watch this space .. I have a few more boxes to check-through !!... Sorry if the photos are not matched to descriptions: can't fathom how to do that when using the direct Browse/Upload (??? Help!!) - but should be obvious what's what.

Description and photos_ Sandberg California JM5 ' Natur' -matt. Currently set up as a passive Jazz 5 (+) - the Glockenklang preamp was removed by the previous owner but it comes (complete & ready to re-install, if desired) with the bass. I never bothered putting it in - but it is verified by Sandberg (De.) as correct & complete. Side mounted jack is still in place . The previous owner also put an additional (rear) strap button at the neck-plate (see photos) and had string-through routed w/ ferrules. The picture on the back also shows a little buckle rash which is about the only blemish on the bass. Upgraded with a BadAss II (V) bridge, the original Sandberg bridge is also included: this will cover the Badass holes (if re-installed) but may not work with the string-thru option. Comes complete with original Sandberg gig-bag. Scale is 34" (plus zero-fret) and weight about 10.5 lbs. String spacing @ 9mm (nut); 15mm (fret-22); 18mm (bridge). This is a sweet 5 string J-bass with a nice low action, and is really well balanced. Current passive set-up has Volume, Pan and Tone, with the original single-coil / humbucking switch for the MM pickup still operative. The bass was a featured model at NAMM 2007 (as is seen in the neck-pocket photo - on ebay) and has really nice figuring to the body front and back ! It plays/ performs great as a passive J5, but could be 're-activated' easily (original side-jack is still present/complete). Not sure if the model is yet (easily) available in the UK, so best current deal seems to be via Thomann (De.) at €1300 .. Although the figuring may not be as good as the NAMM example. Thanks B2bM / Ou7 !.. as John (w.w.h.) points-out, this is my bass. I'll add some photos and details here and am happy to entertain PM's/offers if anybody's interested. I spoke to the guys at Sandberg who confirmed both that the accompanying EQ is complete/correct (although they still haven't sent the promised circuit diagram) and that the bass was part of the NAMM 07 display. Nice passive J5 as it stands and capable of some 'boost' with the optional EQ. I find it similar to the USA J5 / MM Jazz 5, but somewhat lighter in weight and with better tone.

In excellent condition. Very high quality, so no wear at all to the side or rear strap attachments, zip etc. Couple of superficial marks only. Very well cushioned for both instruments and with an ingenious fold-over section that seals as the zipper is pulled close. I've tried to show the exterior & interior in the photos (held-open with a Fender truss-rod tool). This is difficult to fold, so is better being Courier'd straight. £SOLD
