1.
Hi Chris
Actually, I should have updated this thread.. thomann sent me an email and text message yesterday telling me it's been sent back to me at last! I had a faulty preamp PCB which has been replaced. I've used the Peavey monster for the last run of gigs and its performed beautifully but my God is it hard to carry! The guys in my band say it sounds better but I'm not sure yet, I'll probably use them both!!
2. That is a damn fine specimen you got yourself there! I'd be surprised If if didn't get snapped up over this weekend
3. Their delivery is very efficient, their complaints process could do with major improvement though... My new amp broke down about 6 weeks ago, sent it back to them within a week which they acknowledged receipt of... but they haven't contacted me in a month, and have been ignoring my emails!
4. I have 7 basses, purely because every time I join a band with a different tuning I buy a new bass
5. Breaking just about every rule in the book... Lightweight cab (sealed markbass CL104), stupidly heavy all valve amp (Peavey Classic 400), and a pint resting on top for good measure! Sounds effin amazing!!
6. Cant go wrong with an RG mate, they're pretty much industry standard!
7. They're so damn good, I hope they come back in stock in time for me to record my new band's album!!
8. I think one of the bits the company need to pay attention to most was when they set up that show and all the equipment was malfunctioning. Everyone was basically saying that it was to be expected because Peavey gear is cheap and it sucks. It seems that their reputation has come to that in recent years.. whereas they've always been known historically for being affordable but bulletproof!
9. I watched the Undercover Boss episode myself last night. It was quite heartbreaking to see what looked like a company dying on its arse
10.
Upadate - I've just an email that estimates 1-2 months for new Neo Bridge stock....
Thanks for sharing! Guess that gives me something to look forward to!
11. This has now been sold, thanks!
12. Markbass stuff is so clean and versatile you can use it to play absolutely anything! Mostly praised by jazz players, but in the 6 years I've been playing them I've noticed more and more rock/metal guys using them. Currently using an MB 4x10 cab with a Peavey all valve head and it is way too loud for any gig anywhere ever
13. I just read about the Undercover Boss episode featuring Peavey. This is really sad!!
14. Entwistle neo... VERY high output! Also the fullest sounding jazz pickup I've ever heard. As well as the least noisy... And yes, they are still very bright as a single coil should be. My absolute favourite pickups at the moment, I'm quite sad that everywhere has run out of bridge pickups! Beware though, size wise they are very deep!
15.
For a second I was going to offer him/her £50. Then I realised that I didn't want it.
Forget it, I offered £50 before the price increase, definitely won't take it now!
16. That blue one is some seriously nice bit of Fender!
17. If this IS a Ritter it's the best looking one I've ever seen... And the cheapest!
18. No man, these are good budget basses with a bit of TLC and an electronics upgrade you've got a cool workhorse!
19.
If he wants to shift it he should offer it for less than nine million pounds, imho.
This made me laugh WAY more than it should've But to be fair he's probably just trying to recoup the costs of delisting the damn thing so many times!
20.
I have no idea what Hench means
Big and strong
21. I ain't your mate! ....yet Welcome! Enjoy your stay
22. Ooooooh! I had the 2x10 combo version of this. Very nice amp!!
23. Not particularly ergonomic
24. I've joined two originals bands in the last six months, and on both occasions I've asked if they have any tabs They didn't... And to be honest I've not had too much trouble learning stuff by ear, apart from the odd bit where the vocals obscure the parts
