1.
I recall my ' bedroom days' when my amplifier was a wardrobe that was scratched to bits from my bass headstock pushed up against it, using it for its natural vibrational enhancements, Those were the days.....................not!
You had a wardrobe??? I had to make do with resting my chin on the top horn of my bass... Worked pretty well though
2. My amp history is a very short one considering I've been playing for 8 years! Started with a borrowed Hartke kickback 1x12 combo which to be honest I can't remember how it sounded! First owned amp was a Laney R5, 2x10 300w combo. Awesome amp really, served me well for about 4 years! Would never have gotten rid of it if it wasnt for my next purchase... My beloved markbass f1 and 104HF setup! Almost considered swapping out the cabs before, but since I can get ANY sound with my current rig it must be purely for cosmetic reasons!

I mean, there are no actual naughty bits involved, but... heavens. You can just imagine it.)
Ouch!!
4. I use a johnny Shredfreak power supply and it's awesome! No noise whatsoever... Unless I have all my drive pedals cranked
5. Must be... It's clearly a jazz!
6. It's strange how he has all that information except for that which is most obvious
7. Thanks man! Sounds more than good enough to me already, the only reason ive avoided multi units is because of tone suck so this is exciting stuff! I'm sure it will degrade the tone less than the 3 or 4 true bypass pedals I'm thinking of replacing with it (not to mention itll leave more space for future GAS )
8. Wow man that is rather charitable of you! If I were a bit closer (and quicker off the Mark!) I'd probably have taken one of these fine things off your hands too lol
9. That is the sexiest P bass in existence! Good of Mr Shuker to offer a respray for you. To state the obvious, he clearly takes great pride in his work!
10. Thanks for the review man it helps a lot! I'm thinking this might be a better investment than the Line 6 M9 for my needs... Does the unit affect your tone at all without any effects active, ie bypassed?
11.
I plugged a bass into a markbass rig once and it was bloody horrible too.
12. Slightly OT, but I plugged an ipod into my markbass rig and it was bloody horrible too!
13. Only just discovered this thread... Very intrigued!!!
14. I agree with most of the posters here. You don't want to spoil the friendship by getting frustrated with the guy on a musical level. It's hard telling your mates they need to sort it out, even harder to fire them but if it comes down to that itll work out better for everyone and the band in the long run. Good luck!
15. I paid about £60 for my one of these and its worth every penny. This is a steal!
16. Never had reason to complain about their customer service, neither has anyone else I know who's ever dealt with em
17. Never a dull moment with you dude!
18. First thing I would do would be to poo myself, then pick up whatever it was and inspect it myself. Regardless of the condition. I would then take it to the owner, explain what happened while pointing out any damage I may be responsible for whilst apologising profusely. As awkward as it might be, most players would appreciate someone being up front about it even if there isn't anything wrong with the instrument. Luckily the worst thing like this I've ever done was broken somebody's strap while adjusting it. Bought them a much better one to compensate for it too
19.
No matter what happens pics are required
+100000000000000
20. Yeah these ones are supposed to be much higher quality than the current models, which look very cheaply made! After this model they started using those individual bridge saddles instead of that Gotoh style one. You really would struggle to get something else like this for £100. If I hadn't just got one myself I'd have probably nabbed this instead as the price is the same that my international was!
21.
I sold my Ibanez Srx 700 as I didn't like the electrics package. Nice necks, though.
I had the same opinion of the SR series. Great necks and really comfortable to play, but the electronics just didn't work for me!
22. Really there is no 'right' and 'wrong' when it comes to technique (unless its painful!) To me it's more comfortable to have one finger per string than to bar multiple strings. If doing it your way is more comfortable then that's probably what you're best off sticking to. Practicing it to get it sounding cleaner can't hurt though. Hope that helps!
23. Can't comment on the cabinet but I've heard that head through a bunch of different cabs (including my markbass, and a high end Peavey one) and it's surprisingly good!
24.
also the elasticity/stiffness of the string makes no differences to the pitch, only to the perceived tension of the string when playing.
Yep, it's purely a comfort thing, however for the fussiest of us that's vital
25. If you're going to go with Markbass, I seriously doubt a second hand rig would let you down bud and could get a LMII and 104HF for under £800 easy!
