My amp history is a very short one considering I've been playing for 8 years! Started with a borrowed Hartke kickback 1x12 combo which to be honest I can't remember how it sounded! First owned amp was a Laney R5, 2x10 300w combo. Awesome amp really, served me well for about 4 years! Would never have gotten rid of it if it wasnt for my next purchase... My beloved markbass f1 and 104HF setup! Almost considered swapping out the cabs before, but since I can get ANY sound with my current rig it must be purely for cosmetic reasons!

I use a johnny Shredfreak power supply and it's awesome! No noise whatsoever... Unless I have all my drive pedals cranked

Thanks man! Sounds more than good enough to me already, the only reason ive avoided multi units is because of tone suck so this is exciting stuff! I'm sure it will degrade the tone less than the 3 or 4 true bypass pedals I'm thinking of replacing with it (not to mention itll leave more space for future GAS )

Thanks for the review man it helps a lot! I'm thinking this might be a better investment than the Line 6 M9 for my needs... Does the unit affect your tone at all without any effects active, ie bypassed?

I agree with most of the posters here. You don't want to spoil the friendship by getting frustrated with the guy on a musical level. It's hard telling your mates they need to sort it out, even harder to fire them but if it comes down to that itll work out better for everyone and the band in the long run. Good luck!

First thing I would do would be to poo myself, then pick up whatever it was and inspect it myself. Regardless of the condition. I would then take it to the owner, explain what happened while pointing out any damage I may be responsible for whilst apologising profusely. As awkward as it might be, most players would appreciate someone being up front about it even if there isn't anything wrong with the instrument. Luckily the worst thing like this I've ever done was broken somebody's strap while adjusting it. Bought them a much better one to compensate for it too

Really there is no 'right' and 'wrong' when it comes to technique (unless its painful!) To me it's more comfortable to have one finger per string than to bar multiple strings. If doing it your way is more comfortable then that's probably what you're best off sticking to. Practicing it to get it sounding cleaner can't hurt though. Hope that helps!

If you're going to go with Markbass, I seriously doubt a second hand rig would let you down bud and could get a LMII and 104HF for under £800 easy!
