2. It depends on what you're using. I used two Markbass 2x10s on a gig before and it was way more than I needed! But in my experience the Ashdown MAG 2x10s seemed a bit lacking in the low end, and even two of them stacked didn't feel enough for me. You'll probably need the 1x15 with it on a gig especially if you have a loud drummer!
3. I know bugger all about electronics, but it seems dodgy to me!
4.
This sounds delicious. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=49nnpXzPMlA
It sure does! And shows how versatile this amp is! I use it for a nasty high mid/trebley aggressive tone and it does it better than anything i've ever tried. Will never stop singing the praises of the F1
5.
Flats on everything
If i did that I'd have to learn to play bass properly!
6. Lots of people rave about this combination actually! I've heard that 4001's are commonly used with flats, and 4003s were made specifically to be used with rounds... for tension related reasons. I don't know for sure but I would probably look into it anyways
7.
Regarding the hiss - I use a Stingray as well, and it's whisper quiet. From what I've read on TB, Tech21 reckon that noisy ones are defective. Possibly look into trying another or contacting T21?
Kind of a hijack here... but my PBDDI hisses a bit. Would the same apply?
8.
You should get a S12T! I'm finding 9 o'clock to be enough with the f1. The preamp is clipping a lot later on the gain stage than with RH. However like all heads, it does run out of juice at around 1-2 o'clock on the master.
This! I used the F1/S12T combination with a passive bass and heavy compression on a very loud metal gig. I had it at about 1'oclock on the Gain, and 12'oclock on the Master and I have never had so many compliments on the tone, and how audible i was without being overpowering
9. Very strange! Mine must have been missed by mistake judging by everyone's comments so far...
10.
It's flip top/ crazy paint or something.. I don't have a clue... I gave Jon artistic freedom on the finish
And a true artist he is! Bloody hell I've never seen a piece of wood look so enticing
11. On the other side of the coin here... I sent them an email as a prospective customer as opposed to an existing one, asking a couple of questions about their cabinets, only for it to to be ignored It's nice to hear they look after real customers though
12. Im not sure on this but they may use bartolonis in some SR models. On the more expensive side, Nordstrand make fantastic pickups to fit the cavity!
13. Ive used the front ported 2x10 with the posher horn. Awesome cab! More lows than you'd expect from a 2x10 and plenty of volume. The traveller has apparently got tighter, and possibly less low end. And the tweeter is a bit harsher sounding.
14. If you love the playability, and it also looks awesome, I would definately keep it! Pickups are often upgraded as I have done with my bass I have SD's in mine (bass pickups mind) and I fell in love straight away. If you don't end up going custom I would recommend sticking to the brand you know and love. Chances are you will be happy with your decision and fall in love with your bass even more than you shoul have done when you bought it! It will be more personal to you good luck!
15. I wondered what that was! This will clearly go before I get the means to buy it, so whoever gets it... enjoy!
16. Price drop because of dodgy jack socket type bump
17. out of interest, is there an output control for the tweeter on these?
18.
If you ever want to come try the F1, more than welcome.
That's a really cool offer Also I've just noticed you put yours through a Barefaced Super 12 T! That's the best damn rig in the universe oh yes it is
19. Not tried those two, but I've tried the LM2, and own an F1. The F1 is definately snappier, more aggressive but still very flat. The LM2 is round and warm but with plenty of punch. I can make the F1 sound like the LM, but not tue other way round. The F series are smaller, and in my opinion look cooler. Plus you get more tonal options on the F500 with the parametric mids. Just depends on if the extras are worth the higher price tag to you.
20. Haha! Yes it was indeed The Grapes!.... and with that rig behind me it could well have been
21. I may be mistaken, but i think Markbass use B&C Drivers... if so this is a great deal!
22. Tried a Super Twelve T last night. OH MY GOD how i wish I had some money right now...
23. Plenty of gear porn last night if you ask me
24. If stacked vertical the 4x8 would be a little wider, judging by the photo
