1. As far as combos go, I can't recommend Markbass enough. Small and light but so so loud, and clear! If you get one of their combos that should be enough on its own, but you also have the option to add an extension cabinet at a later time too. There's a guy trying to shift one here http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...amp;hl=markbass
2. I dopn't normally like sparkly finishes but I still had to resist playing with myself looking at those pictures
3. Well it certainly won't be one of us lot Glad to hear it all turned out good in the end, plus you've caused mass amusement for us all over the whole thing so in all it's a total win on your part!
4. Peavey's are the nicest to play in the world, even the cheapo asian ones. This can't NOT be an amazing instrument! or just.. bump
5. Back on topic... So why HAVE you been so quiet recently? You should be playing those things LOUD!!!
6. 24 years old. 6 string fingerstyle player. I play in a metal band, mostly the fast heavy kind. I take a few solos here and there but I don't realy do any party tricks like slapping or tapping (partly because I cant ) When I'm at home I also like to noodle around, and spend way too long twiddling knobs on my amp and pedalboard. If i get time I also play prog rock, classic rock, and when nobody is listening, i dabble in a poorly executed type of jazz, and motown. Pretty much the worst kind of 'bass player' then
7. God I love these basses, never knew they came in passive! If this is still for sale when my Peavey 4's neck finally snaps off I'll be back...
8. They're not quite as common, but I recommend the EHX Neo Clone. Mine cost me about £50 brand new, nice and simple to use (just a knob to adjust the rate, and a switch to make the effect more obvious). Very nice sound, small so perfect for pedalboards, and true bypass!
9. He's an idiot for signing for it. Now you have proof he has received it! Pain in the wobblers that's for sure but I'm confident you'll EVENTUALLY get your money back! eBay should have a system where you can claim compensation from sellers for pulling this kind of thing. I hear too many stories like this
10.
Ice cream van for sale. Highly musical and so cooooool !
Speaker size? wattage?
11. After a few buying/selling experiences on here I wouldn't sell anywhere else... unless it was to a mate. I've always bought items for prices I'm more than happy with, and have felt glad to be a part of the community, i think it'd only be fair to sell/trade stuff i'm bored with back on here to 'keep it in the family' so to speak I wouldn't mind making a few quid less than selling on eBay considering all the fantastic deals i've had here. I know it'd be an ultimately more pleasant experience, too!
12. This is all very puerile... I love it!
13. They are truly fantastic cabs, using one for just 15 minutes almost had me getting rid of my Markbass for one!
14. Just an educated guess, i'm sure the post would have been long deleted for your obvious trolling
15. I can see it now! Protium Registered User While I appreciate your technical ability, and what you are putting across with your music, it's not really my cup of tea sorry! Don't stop doing what you love though you're clearly a talented artist! *BANNNNNN* oh you naughty boy!
16. I've just had a nose around on TB, and it looks like every person who dislikes his playing has their comments deleted by a mod. Fannies.
17. is that like a 12 string, with a low B? I was interested in getting an 18 string, until i realized octave pedals existed... And furthermore that I'd look like a tit Also, his playing is worse than mine!
18. I'm interested in these too! Apparently it's a really full range sound with no speaker sim.. And so I'd assume so. Hopefully someone who's used one will be able to speak up! Also, do they have a 9v input jack for power supply? That'd be handy!
19. They definitely used to make em with black drivers and silver logo. I actually prefer the look! Don't know if there is any difference other than that. Why not contact their customer support? They're absolutely top notch when it comes to answering questions
20. I know a guy who's band formed in November last year, and he's playing Download festival this year! I think he's opening 2nd stage or something... Don't know how they managed it and they won't tell anybody! Peculiar...
21. Ugh, just look at it! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/7-string-Bass-guitar...id=230309960362
22. This might not be as helpful as you'd hoped, but the best way to set a compressor is to play as you normally would, and keep making adjustments to it. You sound like you know enough about how they work so just keep fiddling with it til you get a fine balance of the dynamic range you want, and enough gain to bring the volume back up to where it was should add a nice punch. Usually in rock pretty much everything stays at the same level especially the bass. I play metal and I have my threshold at max and the ratio set to infinity, with the gain set to get the volume back. I get no tone colouration from mine though and save that for other pedals . I hope I've kinda been helpful! Hope you get the right settings for you, and hav some real fun playing!
23. I guess he gets away with it, after all, he's Rick James! (bitch)
24. lol I don't know whether it's the mixing but it sounds like hes just randomly smacking and popping the strings when he feels like it
