I think silddx has actually inspired people to go ahead and check out the Recordings forum a bit more. I looked at the topic mentioned in the OP and to be honest I'm not fantastic at feedback when it comes to music so I decided to listen but not give my input. Thinking about it, if I were to post something up here I would want comments, so I think I'll try to change the error of my ways

You'd end up paying a hell of a lot more for a Fender. I think you've bagged yourself a fantastic deal there dude and I hope you decide to keep it

My only experience of hearing Genz Benz gear wasn't a ture representation. I heard a shuttle head through my Markbass cab, by a player who had VERY old strings and wasn't very good at EQing. For all I know they could sound amazing!

Markbass heads are great, lightweight, loud amps with a very clear tone. Some people say they don't sound amazing solo'd, but truly shine in a band mix. I love mine no matter what! They make my budget bass sound as expensive as stage lighting makes it look

The Trace Elliot gear I've tried out didn't have a very defined tone. The green lights were pretty though! Might be different to your own ears though I'd say your best bet is to find a music shop with a variety of amps and just test them out to your heart's content

I'm happy with my 4x10, so a second cab would either be another one, or maybe a 2x10 since i'd have trouble fitting much more in my tiny car

Most people add a 1x15 because the general belief is that it gives extra low end. I don't know about that personally but they do give a different tone. 4x10s are my weapon of choice, but it depends what works for you really, try a bunch out if you get the chance. Orange get a lot of love though I've not tried them myself. I've tried Trace Elliot but they weren't my cup of tea

+1 on Peaveys! The only basses that I have played that can rival the Fender Jazz in playability. The lower end ones leave a little to be desired in the electronics department but that's easily fixed with a minor upgrade!

I don't really need it, but I'm craving for an extension cabinet. Standing in front of my amp means i'm slightly out of the cone of sound i often can't hear myself as clearly as I'd like even if I'm destroying people in the front row

I'm assuming that most people who delete information from posts are trying to prevent disappointment from fellow BCers who open up a post only to find the item is sold. I however think it's useful to see the going rate for gear. Not only to help other sellers choose an asking price, but also for buyers to know what is a reasonable rate. I just wish everyone remembered to edit the title to say 'SOLD' once in a while

I used to play songs where I didnt actually need the extra strings, and kept going back to a 4 string 'proper bass'

I have a 500w head and a single 8 ohm 4x10 cab. So basically I'm pushing 250 - 300 watts and I never have a problem being heard

I should be alright then, i'm not planning to dot my cabs around the stage Any idea why this is by the way?

I've been toying with the idea of adding another cab ontop of my Markbass STD 104 HF, possibly the rear ported 104.. but I've heard it's not advised to combine front and rear ports. Any thoughts?

New pictures incoming, added a Marshall Jackhammer for the distortion.. and in order to make my board look a bit fuller I've used up the remaining space for a little digital 4-track recorder

I love my Markbass stuff, and they do 8x10 cabs too! Whoever lugs your gear around will thank you too

personally anything around the 12+ gauge mark would be ideal, everything else just feels too flimsy!

Another disappointing revelation - played a gorgeous Warwick Streamer 5 of my uncles. Was determined to love it, but in my hands it was just unplayable, and the tone was too brittle even for me!
