1. Thanks for sharing! I'm a huge Elixir fan and a set usually lasts me a year
2. I bet it sounds like sh*t
3. I've just sold one of these after using it as a stopgap whilst saving for a Markbass amp, Really nice little heads!
4. These are really nice pickups, I put a pair in my Peavey Grind sixer (one of the older ones) and it sounds like a boutique instrument now

6. Second gig, at The Old Salutation Inn, Nottingham... Trying to steal the spotlight http://youtu.be/dH-DzG091NQ
7. A lot of these are from Guitar Hero type games where all the songs have individual tracks. I enjoy listening to these, really helps you nail a cover song too!
8. Had one of these for years and loved it! Stupidly sold it and tried a few great amps but nothing in Markbass' league so I had to get an LMT800
9. I'm gonna get me a forklift off there, would be a necessity if I had a Peavey amp again
10.
Whats the difference between this and lets say a LMII / LMIII / Big Bang?
compared to the LM2/3 it's louder, with quicker attack, and the EQ is slightly flatter (basically you get more upper mids). You can tame it and make it sound pretty much like an LM but you can't make an LM sound like an F1 I don't know about the Big Bang, apparently it uses the same class D power amp but has been designed to sound warmer
11. Nice basses, well made, good looks. I think the tone of the ones I've heard is a bit too dark but I guess if you try it and like it that's all that matters
12. Excellent amp, I had one for 4 years and within months of selling it I had to go back to Markbass. and with the bag too this is a great deal!
13. First track of my first gig with the new band... Before the technical hiccups! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i2lHZd-2bqI
14. Markbass Super Booster if you can find one. It has the awesome VPF and VLE filters too!
15. I got alright money doing covers, but I'm much happier doing originals for nothing
16. Worst gig experience of my life... Debut gig with the new band tonight.... The main support band had to pull out with three days notice (they had a fair enough reason and they're friends of ours...) The opening band were a no show without telling any of us, and to top it all off, the Jack sockets on BOTH of my basses failed on me, despite me taking them into a local well regarded shop to get serviced to make sure they'd be in top shape. I ended up so humiliated and upset that I walked off stage mid set. I pride myself on my reliability, and in my 11 years gigging experience nothing even close to yrhis has never happened to me. Currently feeling like my reputation is in tatters, hoping I don't cause too much sh*t when I storm into the shop tommorrow...
17.
Folks
No worries, you wanted a discussion about it and without discussions the forum wouldn't exist Now give us all your money!
18. It's to help with the running of the site as BC is a non profit style thingy. I've paid for a year's ads and sold about £800 worth of stuff with no other deductions even though my stuff reaches my target audience. I'm pleased
19. I actually get a really nice growly sound from my LMT800 using Entwistle neo pickups and a lot of compression. I could easily get away with not using any of my drive pedals but I'd wager even the cheapest nastiest one would get me a beastly tone!
20.
Peavey have closed their European distribution facility. It is unlikely that, in the short term, any new Peavey gear comes into Europe.
That's a good point, hopefully it won't mean price increases!
21. I use really heavy compression, as it means I can use different techniques to get different tones without losing volume. Well, that's what I tell people, really it's to clean up my sloppy playing
22. The neo pickups truly are something special, I can actually push my LMT800 into overdrive
23. Oh bloody hell I've just bought a new amp as well!
24. Had to laugh at "Acoustic Science". Couldn't sound more made up if you tried!
25.
They were posted today so should be here by Friday, but maybe tomorrow so I should have something up at the weekend.
Enjoy!! They really are amazingly clear, and fuller than any other jazz pickup I've ever heard
