1.
Is this still for sale? If so I want!
Yep! pop me a PM to sort out all the boring stuff!
2.
What i'd really like to do is swap the little Rocker for a 800w Mo Mark frame .
Do it! I wanted one for ages but they're so hard to get hold of without paying a big wedge! I just got the LM Tube 800 instead and I'm so in love with it
3.
(shut up Chris you make me doubt!)
I understand completely... I got rid of all of my markbass once... Lasted a full two months til I went crawling back
4. Ok so I used it at band practice today, into an Ashdown ABM 810... My god this thing is amazing! Sheer power (only had the volume at 10 o'clock), clarity, and the one thing I wasn't expecting from a Class D head... Warmth! Sounds a lot more organic than the F1 head that I thought would be unbeatable in terms of tone. And this was with flat EQ and no filters! (Ok, I do use pedals but this thing sounded gorgeous before I switched any of them on!) I've definitely found my new favourite amp and just itching to gig it!
5. They usually pull this stunt when they can't find your house number so you have to go and pick it up yourself. Really bad form, I'd be getting a refund on that delivery charge!
6. These basses are incredible, really top end construction and so versatile! A steal at this price. GLWTS
7. 0175westwood29 is looking for one of these!
8. It is with Entwistle neos to be fair... Maybe I'll try it with a normal bass
9. Full stacks generally allow you to hear yourself better without having to turn up loud enough to interfere with the FOH and annoy the sound engineer. And they look cool! As long as you are able to transport it, store it, and don't mind the carrying, it's going to be a positive thing!
10.
Other than the neo's having a higher output does anyone know much else about the differences?
MUCH higher output! I'd imagine more midrange clarity judging by the character of neo cabs. I'd be interested to know how good the standard ones are!
11.
Out of interest, how high is the gain set?
9 o clock! Every other amp I've used has been between 11 and 1
12. Interestingly, I'm finding I have to set the Gain a LOT lower than any other markbass head I've used to stop the clip light coming on! Doesn't make it any less obscenely loud, just strange!
13.
Great cab too!
Yep! I loved the 104HF but it was a bit TOO bassy! This one sounds identical with tighter lows. Plus its a lot nicer looking... I mean if I didn't care about a cool looking rig I'd just go DI and use in ears
14.
Yes the "tube" bit certainly makes a difference, though how to describe what that is is very difficult.
From my 5 minute test, I thought it made the sound slightly warmer, and while the highs are still as present, it made them a little less harsh. Definitely won't be replacing any of my pedals but I'm really glad it's there!
15.
In need of a micro amp so interested. Can you supply any further info?
Hi Mark thankfully Jack posted a review a couple of years ago which helped influence my decision! http://basschat.co.uk/topic/177376-harley-benton-ba500h-review/page__fromsearch__1 It's about the size of a Little Mark head, with a sharper (less "warm") tone, bass and treble controls (with boost switches), switchable 6 band EQ, and colour/contour controls. One is like a tone knob the other is a mid scoop knob. I forget which is which as I don't use them! Oh, and a mute switch
16. Ok! I bought this cracking little amp from Antlockyer as a stopgap while shopping around for another Markbass one. Its served its purpose very well indeed! Modelled on the Ibanez Promethean. It didn't come with a kettle lead when I bought it, but I'll pop the two pin Euro mains plug that came with my LMT800 in the box if you want it Ant's original sale thread is here http://basschat.co.uk/topic/240280-harley-benton-ba500h-500w-class-d-amplifier-sold/page__fromsearch__1 Selling it for the bargain price I picked it up for, so £100 collected from the west midlands, or £110 posted Cheers!
17. Well it arrived first thing this morning! Is it just me, or is something arriving from Germany within two working days absolutely insane??? Only had a quick 5 minute play with no effects, but I'm already impressed! To my ears it sounds warmer than the F1, and I can certainly tell the difference between the tube and SS preamps as subtle as it is. I can't wait to get it gigged!! Here it is sitting pretty on top of my CL 104
18. Bloody hell I just bought one of these
19. Wow that's a really classy looking box. Suits your basses perfectly!
20. That really annoys me when manufacturers change their specs. Nothing worse than a mismatched rig! I'd probably return it and try to source an older one on the used market.
21. A lightweight hartke amp would pretty much decimate the conpetition, with insanely competitive pricing to boot! Other amp manufacturers, be afraid!!
22. All of the above is good advice. Also, get a sh*t hot photographer to take some shots of you guys at a gig with a really impressive stage. Share them, invite people to like the Facebook page, and really ham up any post you make from the page to sell yourself. The cheesier the better! Getting gigs through Facebook tends to be the best way with a lot of places these days.. that, and being relentless with the phonecalls! My old band was really good at that kind of thing, looking at their page might give you some ideas http://www.facebook.com/Generations.metalcoversband
23. I have the 4x10 version of this cab. Its bloody lovely, and easily the sexiest looking thing markbass have ever made. They really missed a trick when they stopped making bigger cabs with black speakers / grill cloth. Amazing price too by the way!!
24. Ok so I only ordered this last night, but I really can't wait! I regretted selling my F1 within a couple of months, and when I saw that thomann had a B stock model for £518 I just couldn't say no! I'm super impressed that it was dispatched within 12 hours... What does everyone else think of this amp? Seeing that the F1 is the best amp I've ever used, will I love this one as much??
