1.
At which point both screws/bolts ripped clean through the top and the 27Kg amplifier fell about two feet onto the floor.
Was the floor ok??
2. Bump! Considering trades for markbass heads or interesting guitar pedals
3. Bump! Will consider trades for a Markbass head
4.
I think that BC is fast becoming the place to buy but not necessarily the place to sell....
I agree, but I do love buying things more than I love having to get rid of them
5. On the Markbass stuff I've had, it's on a white sticker either on the side or the back. Seeing that they are made to the same spec with the same rigourous testing it wouldn't make a difference to the quality of the amp, construction or components though These amps are ace though! Ridiculously low weight and quick attack like you'd expect with Class D amps like the F1, but with a warmer more natural sound like the LM series.. and I believe they have a headphone out too!
6. I would say if you're playing rock and metal, 2x10 might cut it but I'd feel much more comfortable with a 2x12 at the very least. Sound wise there isn't much difference, but they might seem "fuller" and depending on the quality of the cab it's likely to be a little louder. As for the head, all three have their characteristics. Markbass Sounds very warm but very clean and clear. If you want a bit of dirt you'll need to get a pedal. GK and TC have the option of adding some grit without needing pedals, but it depends if you like the tones they're capable of. All three are very good choices but it's best to try them out yourself, or at the very least check out some video demos online.
7. Bargain price for three Sansamps in one, I never leave home without mine.... Works great in conjunction with dedicated overdrive pedals!
8. I was looking forward to this, but I was offered a job interview today instead, which had to take priority. I never really have any questions for famous players that I meet, but I'm mega jealous all the same. Have a great day!
9. If you don't mind doing songs with disgusting (but hilarious) lyrics, Chuck a couple of Steel Panther songs in there
10.
Although as someone said previous MB sounds good when somebody else is playing thru it. In one case it was a P bass.
Even the cheapest nastiest P bass copy has authority through a Markbass rig! But yeah it is whatever what suits the player. I've played through an all valve SVT 810 rig and it just didn't work for me at all! I don't even like TC stuff despite the incredible sounds I've heard other people get. The only thing that works for me is Markbass with a load of pedals in front
11. Sorry to hear about the neck breakage, I've got a Scorpio and they're fantastic basses. Considering that the pickups alone would cost pretty much this price this is a bargain for a very cool project bass!
12. It would be an amusing trinket to own but not for that money!
13. At the moment ecigs and retraining my fingers to play regular guitar again are helping me. I have smoked the odd "real one" here and there but I haven't bought a packet in months (I haven't been keeping track), which is a result I'm happy with
14. I gave my three months notice yesterday. Out of the four others members in the band, two of them respond to me, and said they had seen it coming for a while. To be fair, they also said that they are crushed by the news and that I will be irreplaceable. I feel like I've had a weight lifted off my shoulders, and will probably enjoy the rest of the gigs this year more than any in a long time Obviously, they are now looking for a suitable replacement, so if anybody is interested in joining THE best metal covers band in the UK, with almost weekly gigs, follow the link to the Facebook page in my signature and send them a message. Cheers!
15. I got a phenominal tone the other night using a sansamp and an ashdown hyperdrive through a Harley Benton amp I bought for £100!
16. Everything about this is just awful. And what's with that price tag?!

NPD!!!

You gonna do that mod to switch the mid scoop on and off?
18. I reckon in a funny way the questionable quality control works in their favour. Makes them even more special when you get a good one!
19. Go for nickel roundwound to start with, they sound nice and bright when new without being too clanky like steels (I like that but you may not), with a slightly softer feel. D'Addario are good quality strings at a nice price
20. Incredible amps, and at this price it's a steal!
21. Looks quite apeeling
22. Purchased an ISP Decimator from this fine fellow. Delivery was super quick and it was in good condition and well packed. Very good gate! Thanks
23. Valve amp hurling sounds like it should be an Olympic event!
24. Price dropped to £330!
25. It's crazy how cheap his basses go for used. That looks lovely!
