1. Don't forget feedback!
2.
I don't think there's anything wrong with advertising products you don't have in stock. However, it should be made clear to you within a reasonable time from ordering
This. Looking at the listing it will say "dispatched within x days". To not even have the item in stock is bad enough, to not even tell you at the point of sale is worse. And to not even hear a word from them until you chase them really takes the biscuit. I'd be cancelling straight away!
3. With how good string companies are with any issues I'd have been very surprised if they hadn't got back to you. Good news!
4. As somebody who spent 5 years playing Markbass, sold my gear and got an awesome Peavey rig, then bought another Markbass cab because it just wasn't the same... I can only recommend them!!
5. My first compression pedal was also the Behringer DC9 and it did the job beautifully! The only reason I changed was because I wanted something capable of extreme settings so I can play lightly or dig in super hard for a different tone without a change in volume
6.
On the occasions where I want a 6x10 setup I usually cheat and use a 2x10 sat on top of a 4x10. Far easier to transport that way.
Yep! I used a 2x10 + 4x10 rig for a while and it was a great setup, as well as being easier to navigate doors and stairs!!
7.
[troll] The 18s for bass and the 10s for top end, obviously. [/troll]
Don't be silly it's a 2x10 with two massive tweeters for GIGANTIC high end clarity.
8. You don't want a fizzy distortion / fuzz sound which is fine. I don't like that either! But overdrive when done tastefully can sound very nice!! Check out some video demos on youtube to get a fair idea of what you like. My first port of call when I moved away from clean tones was the Sansamp Bass Driver, but you could also have a look at the Tech 21 VT Bass. I'd also recommend the Ashdown Lomenzo Hyperdrive! There's a LOT more out there, but those are the most widely used and the most easily available.
9. To be fair the drummer was right. That's probably why the singer took it so badly and got violent! He should have been told a long time ago that when he's on stage he's got a job to do, not keep his woman sweet... I've left bands for less!
10. Just don't post about it on the EBMM forums
11. I don't Like the look of alembics either but that's one nice bit of wood, I'd definitely put my coffee on that table!
12. That looks awesome! Another vote here for a clear guard
13. Great cabs!! And a very good price too pictures will definitely help with the sale though. Good luck!
14. Hey guys It's mostly been to do with the volume of threads on the same (quite frankly excellent) product. Really excited to hear more!!
15. They had some issues a short while back, resulting in some orders being delayed. Things seem to be picking up now in a big way though so I wouldn't see it as much of a concern
16. As long as you set the Gain correctly you can cane the master volume and it will handle it. Should be loud enough too, but you might notice the inbuilt limiter kicking in.
17. This might sound completely ridiculous, but I had a similar problem with my bass once. Turns out my shoes were isolating me from the earth. Put my trusty Converse on and the noise disappeared!!
18. This looks very cool! So how does the MID switch work? Does it somehow disable the mid scoop or does it work as a mid boost? And what does the NOTCH one actually do?
19. This is the amp that started my love affair with Markbass. This is a bargain for my personal favourite combo of all time!
20. Price drop bump...£410 for a 410!
21.
I used the combo on its own tonight at rehearsal. I used one of the factory presets and tweaked it a little. What a difference! I actually had to back off the lows. Very happy. I'd like a matching PRO210 extension cabinet for some real bowel moving air
Glad you're happy with the sound you're getting from it now! I've still got an 8 ohm pro 410 in the for sale section which opens the options for a stupid mega upgrade later if you want a 10x10 rig
22.
I've always found that you tend to get more people volunteering to work at these events rather than come along as a guest. I've played a couple of local charity events and there's always tonnes of 'sound guys', 'caterers' and 'bar staff' but no punters! Truckstop
I've played a fair few charity events where there've been far more "volunteers" than punters, but as long as the money is raised and it's fairly well run it's all good in my books. When I was in an originals band I'd treat it more as a networking exercise than anything else
23. I'd definitely check with the specific model just in case, and if buying used ask the seller to measure the pickups for you! I have two Peavey Grind 6 string basses and one of them has SSB5's in (EMG 40 size) with a little wiggle room... The other one's pickup routes are wider AND shorter! (EMG 45 size)
24.
If you want to drop tune and not have the E string go flappy, then I can recommend Circle K strings. Took me a few minutes to get my head around the table of string guages on the on the Circle K website, but they make strings for all manner of tunings that maintain an even tension across the set.
DR DDT strings are good too, they seem to magically retain a lot of their feel and compliance when you tune down and/or back up again!
25.
My son started at 7 on an Alesis electronic kit. He's now 11, studying for Grade 6, and has just asked if he can have a second bass drum added to his acoustic kit "you know Dad, like Cozy Powell"!
Parenting done right!
