  1. I bought a Badass bridge from Andy. Everything went smoothly, and it arrived within a couple of days. Top man!!
  2. Mel - I had both wrists done for carpal tunnel syndrome. Both at the same time, just over a year ago. Two weeks in plaster, then the stitches came out and I was back at work. I was also playing again at home, but it was another two months before I could carry my rig in and out. My right was worse, with atrophy of the nerve. That is now fully recovered. The left was not so bad, but I managed to damage it again before the stitches came out. Learn from me - don't try to do too much too soon. Hope it all goes well from here on.
  3. What is the neck profile like on this - is it the slim neck or the chunkier newer one?
  4. I have had a fair spread of Corvettes - a passive 4 string (1997), active 4 string (2005) and active 5 string (2010). I thought the passive sounded really feeble compared to both the actives, even in when using the actives in passive mode (if you see what I mean). The flip side was that the neck was superb - so I swapped the necks on the two 4 strings and sold off the bits I didn't want.
  5. [quote name='SubsonicSimpleton' timestamp='1396298086' post='2412103'] Try asking this seller, not the first time that I've seen them selling mighty mite necks on the bay, I suspect that they import on a regular basis in small quantities. They even asked me what type of logo I wanted on the headstock!!

  7. Try both inputs and choose the one with sound you like best. If the signal from your fx is to high for the passive input, it will clip and start to distort the signal.
  8. I would go for: Heart of the sunrise - Yes Waiting for an alibi - Lizzy
  9. I bought my RH750 from someone here, and the settings didn't work for me. It took me a while to work out the semi-parametric eq, but as soon as I did the sound came alive. The big question is: what sort of sound do you want? I found that the top end was way too subdued for me, as I like clank. I made the centre frequency of the treble control lower, giving me more control over that area just above upper mids. and boosted that up to about 3 o'clock. I also pushed the Tweeter Tone up, and pulled the compressor right down to make it more responsive.
  10. Bishop - where are you based? If you get stuck with any repairs, I'm sure someone on here will be able to take a look and help you out.
  11. It may be easier to find a neck with the aesthetics you want and do a swap.
  12. I was small and young when I bought mine
  13. "perfectly aged with the right amount of dings, road wear and grime" If I had a bass that looked like that, I would called it damaged, not reliced.
  14. I had one of these - the first "decent" bass I owned. I was so nostalgic for it that I bought one from a Basschatter a while ago - and for a fair bit more than this. Not bad basses for the money, IMHO.
  15. Also, load the PC software and connect the Backtrack. You can then configure it for the type of band - obviously a folk group needs the levels set a lot higher than a heavy metal band. That is the key to the recording quality. It will also start and stop the recording automatically when you start/finish songs. Excellent bit of kit!
  16. I have a Backtrack with integral microphone and it's superb - the best live recordings I have heard from loud bands.
  17. I can live with the gold hardware (it's fitted to my Bass Collection fretless), but I agree with the original poster about single cuts. I always wonder why the luthier didn't bother to finish the top bout. Coyote ugly - in my opinion, of course!!
  18. I am GASing for those things with four or five strings on .... basses, I think they are called
  19. I bought a TC RH750 amp from André. It was a really easy deal, the amp arrived from Germany very quickly, well packed and ready to go! Top man.
  20. Does this have grooves cut in the saddles?
  21. I would try stretching the strings.
  22. I would imagine you are not the only person to suffer with this. Why not buy a set for the extortionate price, then sell the three you don't want to recoup your outlay? Others in your position may be happy to pay enough for you cover your costs for all four.
  23. You know it makes sense
