1. Sounds like it's palm muted to me- a well played and well produced bass pretty high in the mix.
2. I got the John Taylor autobiog too. A pop bass hero of mine from my youth so looking forward to having a read.
3. As a kid in the 80s it was Love Cats by The Cure that grabbed my attention despite being aurally pummelled by my Dad's jazz tapes on every car journey.
4.
I so don't want that to be true as he was a hero of mine aged 16 - I also read that Andy Taylor came up with the bass lines but hey he looked bloody good with that Aria!!
Same here. Ditto. +1. etc...
5. Ian, you are a swine for posting all this bass porn filth. Gorgeous basses- glad u sold the Perception and this shouldn't hang around long either. Good luck with the search for your next bass
6. Lol. While you're here tho the below is in Classifieds. Half of what u r after. I have a Candy Apple Red Rosewood JO5 coming on here v soon (when I get my backside in gear) http://basschat.co.uk/classifieds/item/205-fsft-lakland-jo5-pics-post-moved/'%20title='FS/FT%20Lakland%20JO5%20-%20Pics%20***%20Post%20Moved***
7.
That ties in nicely with my psoriasis related gift idea.
LOL. Brilliant.
8. Agreed.
9. Oh my word... Very, very nice.
10. Just
11. This is a great video. Listen to the opening and skip to 1.50 if you want direct comparison as opposed to a full demo of the 55-02 (pick-up panning and coil tap shenanigans etc) Its a great demo of the bass tho but the difference in woods is audible. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8dcEbiMaN-A
12. 7 bedroom detached house. A modest description.
13. Ah my hometown- alas I moved away from there about 20yrs ago but still get back to see my Mum and sister. By all accounts it isn't as vibrant as it used to be (show me a town that is tho)- although the student population has always breathed life into it. Enjoy- whereabouts are you Chris- past Machynlleth? Its Ynyslas nr Borth- full of happy childhood memories
14. Apologies for duplicating a previous thread. I didn't see it.
15. Oh my- my heart just sunk when I read this. Thoughts go to all involved especially the family and friends of the deceased- awful news. I really thought I'd lost a hero when I saw the headline. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-20486184
16.
Yeah, it was Jerry Meehan.. He's off with Robbie Williams this year so Steve Pearce is doing The Voice.. Another Fab player with a never ending CV..
... who, coincidentally, played on the cast recording of the last reworking of JCS ('97-ish?)
17. All is fine if u view "new content" but otherwise it's a bit buggered.
18. Tuuuuuuuuune.
19.
wwdajwadjwd jwidajiwjijwaijwid
It's spelt Gwizdala.
20. Iconic 80s stuff at the end of the first 2 choruses and in the middle section the bass almost talks..
21. I use Tempo on iOS and I believe it's available on Android too- it does all that u have mentioned.
22. Happy, happy, happy. Like a mix of Prestia and Nate Watts with the unbridled joy of Abe Laboriel.
23. Cool! Jazz Bassoon. The bassoon was my way into reading bass clef when I was a nipper (and the reason I was allowed to stop playing the bloody recorder!!)
24. The cliched setlist makes me shudder a little but not as much as the thought of seeing it played badly. I can listen to anything if it's played well by decent musos. sh*t played sh*t is a no-no. sh*t played well and I'm interested.
