1. Its the no tone control thing that I like about them! Good price though, suppose could return the 'lectrix back to factory relatively easily?
 2. Had fun supporting Big Country back in march on one of 30th anniversary of Steeltown dates in Frome, Somerset. Derek was resplendent in kilt & spats that night! Great player in a great band.
 3. GLWTS bump. These are great basses for the dosh. Picked one up to try 5'er & its great!
 4. Buzz was definitely mechanical not electrical. A vibration at certain frequencies, prob something loose, just needs a spanner on it!
 5. The one without the buzz sounded better to me, more mid punch. Had the 4 round ports iirc.
 6. I know you said trade with a precision but would you be interested in a Stingray trade? 98 3band eq white maple board. If you're interested will pm pics? I played Pinballs identical bass at last weekends sw bash & it was great! Cheers, Norm.
 7. Hi David, Message from my wife, apparently, I don't need them at all! Bah humbug.
 8. Got the inevitable PBG (post bash gas)! G&L SB-2 Warwick streamer '65 Precision I need them all!!!!!!!!
 9.
that thing made my wallet scared! lovely playing bass! ive forgotten the guy who had its name! had a really nice sovtek fuzz aswell! andy
_tanuki on bc, Guy was his real name iirc.
 10.
The Reverant I think...? Is there a list of what was there as it was a really interesting mix?
thats it. Never seen one before, very nice bass.
 11.
Just got back from the bass bash, twas really nice to meet you all, i just have to make sure i don't turn up 3 hours late next time... and maybe bring an amp! Massive props have to go to Andy's humungous pedalboard and norm's evil synth sound!!
what was the retro looking bass with the jazz style pickups & the lovely rolled edges to the fretboard? Didnt get a chance to plug it in, looked very cool!
 12.
Mike's brought some fabulous valve gear and other retro kit to the South East Bash over the years, as well as to the more sporadic West Sussex Bashes, and if that's your particular fancy, then you won't be disappointed if he takes you up on your suggestion next year! Sounds like a great day was had by all
Appreciate its a bit of a schlep from sussex to our neck of the woods but for me any valve gear is interesting so he'd have a fanboy here! We had 3 all valvers, my v4, a markbass & an ashdown. All sounding good to me. might try & make the 10th south east bash next year as an insurgent from the kingdom of wessex!
 13. Met Chimike, who didnt bring any gear but popped in on his way back from an amp purchase, to have a butchers at my Trace v4. Turns out he has a collection of valve amps including v4's v6's & v8s!!!!!! & others makes too!!!! Get a van & bring 'em all along next time!!!!!! Boooooooommmmmmm!!!!
 14.
Thats this sunday! Feck, i've got to pay closer attention! From 12o/c? Yep, can make that but got a gig to go to in Bristol later so wont be hanging about till the bitter end. Will bring trace v4, barefaced vintage, stingray4, pedals & new toy squier vm jazz 5er.
Hung out until the very end. last one to load out as usual :-) Too much wobbly gob!!!
 15. Nice to see the usual suspects & meet some new faces. Many thanks to Jim for organising it again, top man! Special mentions for MoJoKe's markbass multiamp & squidgy soft pedal controller, impressive bit of kit. Andy's mahoosive boutique pedal board of crazy filthy pitch shifting shenanagins. David (cotswaldbassguitars) for his tasty selection, loved the 65 P with flats, felt like yer favourite old slippers, just, well, right. The warwick streamer ss was my first play on a wick, I've an aversion to their knobby top bout shape, it was a really nice bass to play, liked it a lot. Pinballs g&l sb-2 was a revelation, great bass, very lively pickups, superb bit of kit. Mornats squier vm jazz had the slimmest neck ever, great feel to it & the most groovy competition winning scratch plate. Woodinblack's ACG was initially strange due to the assymetric neck but after a few minutes felt great, nice bass. His fishman powerchord pedal thingy was great fun too. Didnt get time to play all but next time, Jims Kingbass, Keiths (Yorks5stringer) self build Shuker & Tanuki's Lakland Decade will be first on my list. Great way to spend an afternoon with a great bunch, cheers all!
 16.
Trace V4, this I got a see, will pop in. Mike
plug in what ever you want & crank it Chimike! You are welcome to have a good old blast. cheers, Norm

Interesting! A work colleague plays one in a mandolin ensemble. He wanted a mando bass but couldn't find one he could afford so opted for the balalaika. Sounded right woody in a good way!
 19. As others have already said, go get a real one! Go play a few if you can. Picked up mine 2nd hand for £690 about 8 years ago & its great.
 20.
My favourite looking Warwick - nice one
Me too. The only warwick I like the look of! Not sure why I'm not fond of their others, just not.
 21. Den of tealeafs that Ashcott! & as for Shapwick hoooweeee.....
 22.
I use a roland microcube bass, something like 8 watts in 4 tiny speakers, but it's got reasonable sound shaping and amp modelling, rhythm patterns, and a good headphones out.
thats the one! Couldnt quite remember what its called. Works for me too, the bassman & svt models are pretty good for a home pracky scenario. Good bit of kit.
 23.
You practice? ;-)
Vott eees theees "practice" you speeek ov???? Seriously though:- boss microbass tiny 4 speaker jobbythingy
