http://basschat.co.u...ost__p__2360142
Well, that's a different company
2. As Wizard pick-ups and web site is no more, I thought this might be a useful place for Wizard owners to post up snaps, descriptions and sounds, in fact anything that will build up a useful reference for the Wizard brand and craftsmanship. I've never had any, just thought it was a shame to hear of such a well talked about maker packing it in. So please, pull them out, take a few shots and tell their story.. Over to you...
3. There's nothing like opening the case of a TBird and taking in that nitro smell.
4. Cheers Jon, I'll give them a punt
5.
Try here
Cool. Thanks
6. SOLD! Well, pending me putting it in the post and me checking my bank account. But i think the next post will be me telling you to lock up this b'jizzle
7.
He should hold his plectrum how he wants to and ignore the knockers.
Don't be a bummer, man
8.
No. I actually use this bit. Or is that what you meant? That's just how I picked it up over 30 years ago so I don't think I'm going to change now.
Oh, I see. You're a bum man, not a tit man.
9. Without wanting to sound un-cool and that, what does the choke do? Apart from getting it to fire up on a frosty morning
10. A little news here... Howard is experimenting with paintwork, I think the finish is not proving easy. Still on the lookout for a template to copy for the scratch plate and TRC. That's all for now.
11. lovely, gsgbass, very lovely indeed. You're giving me GAS for a Walnutty Thunderbird. Mmmmm.
12.
On your winkle?
Yes. And the Missus got them on her clam. Then it was on to Reculver Towers.
13. I was down in Whitstable the other day. Got crabs.
14.
Not yet, you don't - I've ordered some to try, and you only win if I like them enough to change over from Hercos, which I've used for years. If I DON'T like them, not only do you NOT win, but you have to buy me a big box of Hercos, too. Deal?
I've heard you'd had the same underpants for years, and it's about time you changed them too! Mate, Herco's are cheap and plakky, while Uncle Jim's Torties are lush and sumptuous.
15.
I'd swap this for my Mojo Hand Nebula IV if you're interested - always up for giving new phasers a whirl!
Thanks for the offer, but I'm after a cash sale
16.
Being a life long pick player I swear by Jim Dunlop Tortex .73 Just the right balance of firm for digging in, flexi for speed and rubbery grip-ness. Love them and always a couple in my back pocket

^ this. Next thread please.
Cool. I win!
17. I'm on my tiny screen phone, but think that is an original
18. No idea! These are the 1st La B's I've ever had
19.
Attached is a screen shot of my Johnson,
I think you need to see a doctor.
20. Number 1 for me has to be Silldx and London Zulu. I just love their whole Afropolitian groove. Coming in in an equal second place is BRX with his rip-snorting Rock n' Roll mayhem that is Dick Venom, Clarky for the art-some left field fandango that is All the Queens Ravens and Happy Jack and Mac Daddy with their heads down, no nonsense, pint of bitter please landlord, classic rock n' blues that is The Junk Yard Dogs. All of them a grand night out. Still trying to get to Kit Richardson, and hoping to see The Jetsonics, as they look my kind of bag
21. Just realised it was not a Big Baby 2 I played at the bash, but a Big Twin 2!
22. I've got Celestion BL12-200X's in my Matamp cab http://celestion.com...ct/39/bl12200x/ I thought my Matamp 212 and Jacks 69'er sounded pretty similar. I'm not going to say identical because I was in a room full of bass players. But I's didn't warrant the weight advantage as enough as a reason to get one. Where as the BT2 was a very different beast
23. EDIT! I was not playing through a Big Baby 2, I was playing through a Big Twin 2! I put my Matamp GT200 through Alex's [s]BB2[/s] BT2 at last years SE Bash. I was aided and abetted by 51mon who also gave me help with my compression, so all was flowing. I've never had a cab with a tweeter before and Si dialed in just the right amount of top for me. It gave a freedom like a good blow of the nose. The cab feels like it is breathing with nice clear air-ways. I've heard people say Barefaced are Hi-Fi, but I think they don't colour the sound in any way, if that's Hi-Fi then so be it. So what I was hearing was 100% amp and bass. So if you've got good gear, it sounds f'ing ace. But, you may see why some classic sounds are much a part of the cab as head (take Ampegs' 810 for instance). I usually run the GT200 with a Matamp 212 with Celestion ferrite drivers. When you get the cab cooking it sounds lovely with a nice thump in the guts. But the Ferrite's are heavy lumps and it feels like as much energy is used moving the magnets as making sound. The BF does not have this lag and the response is quicker. But the 212 adds a colouration that the BF does not. Don't let anyone kid you that these cabs are flimsy from being light weight, or not loud or something. For larks we got things stupid loud, as in everything turned up full, vol, drive, the lot. And the BF did not miss a beat as the school hall windows were blown out. I went to the bash specifically wanting to try Jack's 69'er. I A-B'd it with my Mat 212 and couldn't put a fag paper between the two of them. I came away wanting a BF [s]BB2[/s] BT2
