1. What are the nut widths on these, and what woods is it built out of?
2. You could upset him more by buying a Rockingbetter and putting a Rickenbacker TRC on
3. Can't say fairer than that. Good customer service I says. (I wonder if they read BC?)
4. Speaker cab and snow machine all in one, and around Christmas. Result!
5. I need a bit of friction, otherwise I'm all over the neck. When I first polish I find it too slippy for my tastes.
6.
Any trades....?
No thanks
7. My Ric gas is on the back-burner. I'll get one sorted one day. but I've played 3 new 4003's in different shops and they have all been lovely. I've also played Rockingbetters and they don't compare. I've played a couple of 4001's too, and they were superb. At the end of the day, BC can be a very anti-Ric place, but it's more a product of John Hall than anything else. I've owned a Thunderbird, which was beautifully light weight, not neck-divey and sounded monumental, but if you listen to folk here, they'll tell you the complete opposite, and most likely after never owning or playing one. Ultimately, you need to be playing a few in shops, definitely try before you buy. And after that listen to your heart
8. I've heard Happy Jack play through one of these. Best sound ever. EVER!
9.
I have been a bad man. With one the walls shook. Now the floor also shakes. My name is Dave, and i`m an addict.
Niiiice!
10. Couple more pics from the Doc..
11.
Once again it's all 'eye of the beholder' stuff, really. I can't help but think that stripes like that on a bass make it look like a fag packet, but that's just me...
Ah! Tabs of my youth. I smoked Embassy Regal. 'Fun Size' we called them. Happy days
12.
Are you going for one of the old custom colours or something different?
Something different I reckon, but keeping it under my hat for now
13. Any joy with the seller? Gibson use Franklin Titebond 50 to glue in necks. Plus you'd need a tape measure, pencil and a clamp. I found this, which looks fairly straight forward.. 14.
great guitars these - I had a 1988 EN10 that I ended up selling - amazing guitar, the only thing I wished was it wasn't a dreadnaught, I imagine this guitar is awesome!
It has a great sound, it's lovely all round
15.
Way ahead of you.
Yes.
16.
I find that hard to believe, what with you being such a fan of Fender basses and all. Strange days indeed.
Hey, if only Fender made 5 stringers, then BRX would be a convert!
17. I usually get in to Wunjo when in the West End and it's often full of youngsters looking for their first proper bass. The staff seem to have endless patience while some spotty Herbert decides on which is the best for metal. I think things are fine. Maybe the OP's view comes from the fact the there is less money around and maybe the kids are buying s/h somewhere else
18. I notice the Lull has the most delicate chamfering going on
