The saddles can jump out of the grooves in the base. Down to the long shaft on the screw from the rear of the plate to the saddle and shallow grooves in the plate that the saddle screws locate into. BTW, I moved your post asking for one into the wanted section 🙂

Mine was a 4001. You have to loosen off, set the neck and tighten up. Different set up to a Fender or Gibson and hence so many busted ones

... Also the twin truss rod neck was stable and true, best neck I’ve known, but I like the parallel. I did the cap mod on the pups and that made it sound rubbish. I did two things to change it (after reading stuff here) and both of them weren’t great. What I should’ve done was to give it a chance.

I had a Hipshot Ric replacement bridge. I didn’t find it all that TBH. A lot of transverse movement in the saddles.

I find myself lagging with finger style due to the thick epididymis that has built up over the years

I took a bass back to the shop once for a refund because it wouldn’t play the notes in the right order.

I find any discrepancy in my timing is evened out with the deflection in the drummers stick.

Looking through this it seems folk play with pretty thick picks. I still want a bit of flexibility and .73 gives this. 1.5mm? That must be like playing with a brick!

I swear by Dunlop Tortex .73. I use the standard shape. IMO it’s simply the best material. All you have to do is find you thickness and shape.

I think the pups look cool and if the design works then why not? I think people are auto prejudiced because it’s a Ric. I wonder what the comments would be if they were on a Dingwall?
