1.
You are correct, sir. Just for perspective, the current Gibson NRs have no forearm chamfer and the tiniest/shallowest of belly-cut...maybe 5cm at its widest point. P
I'm not sure as to the level of belly chamfering, I'll ask the Doc for a picture of its rear If I could have changed anything about my T Bird it would've been to soften the upper bout arm-wise. Seeing as this is a custom build, I get to live that dream! I'll tell him to get his chamfering thing out, and not his cutting hammer!
 2.
I was looking at the Reverse TB Left Handed guitar bach do. But I would want a normal TB pickguard and the raised centre block, like an Epi/Gibson TB body, if I was to have a Fenderbird. Wish Epiphone did lefties. :-(
Stop me if I'm wrong here, but the raised center block is from the neck-through reverse T Bird (like my old one) and the body wings are glued on. AFAIK all non reverse T Birds are a set neck and no center block?
 3.
Subscribed it's going to be a cracker

Oh my. Subscribed.
Cheers, Chaps
 4. I'm not saying the Matamp is in anyway a state of the art sealed cab. It was just the first one that came in to my head that has (roughly) the same dims as the Barefaced.
 5.
are you being serious? Most those variables i'm sure could be designed into a cab whatever the porting situation, apart from "How does the same driver react in sealed and ported cabs?" everything else is like asking "which is better precisions or jazz basses"...
Well, that's easy, Precision's of course . But the question is, which do you prefer and why?
 6. Fight your ground for your opinions on ported or sealed cabs. Which is tighter? Which has more 'thump'? Does it change tone? Does one have more bass/mid/treble? What differences does it really make? How does the same driver react in sealed and ported cabs? In a fight....6X10 sealed (eg, Matamp) or 2x12 ported (eg Barefaced)? Which one is best for Metal? What do you think?
 7. OK, little bit of movement on this. The body and bridge bits have arrived at the Doc's. Howard is saying all is well, and that is good enough for me. I'm going for a solid colour, so the knottinge pattern on the upper bout will not matter, but I would recommend anyone buying one to tell Bach what kind of finish you are putting on. It comes with a belly cut, but Howard will be setting about it with his chisel putting a forearm contour on. The fret-board looks very nice indeed, puts the Doc in mind of Brazilian rosewood . There will be a bone nut getting crafted too. Howard is getting the tuners in, and the Pups have been ordered from Thunderbucker. They are giving a build time of 2 weeks, plus delivery. Any-hoo, here's the bits so far..
 8.
Sold my Berg CN212 and looking to get something more suitable to sit underneath. Favourite runners at the moment are Berg NV115 or HD210, but I need to try with the head before I buy.
I spotted this excellent cab for sale.. http://basschat.co.uk/topic/216488-purple-chili-115-eminence-neo-cab/page__p__2288311__hl__purple%20chili__fromsearch__1#entry2288311 And at 61cm wide I'm sure the head would sit on it nicely
 9.
Yep, knocked them down some more
Canny . Hope you post up a New Amp Day thread
 10. You could always buy my single-speaker 4 ohm light weight cab. At a fraction of the price of a BFC, and still with an Eminence driver.. Shameless plug here..http://basschat.co.uk/topic/216488-purple-chili-115-eminence-neo-cab/page__p__2278771__hl__purple%20chili__fromsearch__1#entry2278771
 11.
Given the title of this thread, I was rather hoping to find that Hank Marvin had joined Basschat ...
I was thinking Jet Harris from beyond the grave. Welcome Bazza!
 12. It needs a bit of a gee-up. Just sounds lifeless.
 13.
The one that is most likely to make me stop reading is finding "of" used when it should be " 've"....
This one is used big-stylee back home. Especially by my sister. Who incidentally always seems to be turning around whilst speaking to people.. 'So, I turned round and said Ye should of... etc etc etc' 'And he turned round and said Who are YE should of-ing, like' 'So I turned round, like and should of in-aal' And on it goes, like.
 14. I'd carry a small digital amp (eg. GK MB200) as well as the above.
 15.
Phew! Throw in Mansfield's regular gig as Clarky's 'hangover double' in the world of Big Pharma and we're talking about one spicy meatball.
I'm sitting in steerage on the 0641 from Slough up to the big city, laughing out loud. Good to have you around, Skank.
 16.
Mansfield: "... and cue... 'Value for money', 'Community spirit', 'Bollocks to fleabay', 'But are they paying tax on it, eh?', etc.
Clarky
 17.
How come the implied swear word in the thread title is allowed, yet Nigel's similar one was changed by mods?
Because **** ****** **** ***** ham ***** ******** *** eggs ******* ****** John Noakes
 18. See.. http://www.flyguitars.com/gibson/bass/1975-Grabber-11.php
 19. I don't think the neck has been repaired. The Grabber has a scarf joint on the headstock
 20.
Did someone say Fender guitar, near mint?
Spaghetti logo?
 21. So you thought you'd try to advertise it with this thread?
 22.
What is a bendwell for?
Yes. I want to know that too
 23. I played this at the recent SE Bass Bash, and it's a beauty. That's a lot of bass for the money. GLWTS Jon.
