[/quote] I hold the bass tight in to my body, and I think that works pretty well. The weight has always squared up to other folk's hanging scales I have used. But, who am I to argue with an astrowhatnot.

Some sets could be chambered, offering even more range!

I think they should offer this bass with wood fillers, each one sized differently for all the permutations of pick up position. Then they could be offered in sets of different rare and exotic tone-woods. These sets could be carried around in a handy pouch, perhaps hung from the basses headstock. The tonal possibilities from the combination of pickup positioning and tonewood selection is endless, and quite frankly in suprised a leading manufacturer such as Warwick has not already thought of this.

I think it looks great, apart from the hole, but at least they're not shying away from it and celebrating the fuction

I was getting back into bass playing and fancied an all valve head. Was originally looking at Orange, and searching for reviews came up with Basschat. Through various members, especially Mr Foxen and Tayste2000 I ended up with a Matamp rig and have been here ever since [size=4] [/size] [size=4]BTW question 3 was not [/size]relevant[size=4] to me, as I was not recommended, but skynet made me answer it anyway, so I answered 'other'[/size]

What's the problem with Punk Nige? So what if the Pistols couldn't play that well in '75, they'd only been together for about 5 mins FFS. I bet it took Rush a couple of years to get it together and no-one bangs on that they couldn't play. It just happens that most of the punk bands were young and grew up in public. I've seen loads of punk bands play, and many of them are blisteringly good, and I've seen loads of musos who can undoubtedly play be blisteringly dull. Anyway, '76 is long gone, but thank god it happened and blew away some of the fat boring old cobweb farts. Does anyone own a Rickenbacker bass near Windsor that I could either borrow, or have a shot on for a while? I was just about to try a fire glow 4003 at a shop in Swindon, but my job has just finished there and it's doubtful I'll be back. After all the goings on on BC concerning RIC/JH/Rickenbacker I should really try one out, and give it a little more time than you have in a shop. I can offer a Gibbo TBird, A Re-Fin '62 P (by Overwater), A custom built Rutter/Warmoth Cabronita P and a Les Paul or SG as short term exchange if you fancy. Otherwise I can offer you my assurance it will be treated with the utmost care and respect. I've always wanted a Rick, but in-spite of this I have never played one. My prejudices are that they are over-priced, cheap and nasty (because my mates said this when I was at school). My positives are that Lemmy always plays one, and the fire glow 4003 takes your breath away in the flesh. I'll write up a review, hopefully before any ban, or not as the case may be. Many thanks in advance, Stuee [/quote] OK, I've had a fiddle, and this is my finding. With the clean level off, I set the octave and octave filter at 12. Then I rolled off the octave level 'till there was no sound. I rolled the octave level back up, and there is a point when the knob is moving, and then the signal starts slightly later, but to my ears and movement on the knob it is so slight that I thought this is how it should be. Remember it is a sampled signal, so I guess there has to be sufficient input gain in order for the sample to be generated (or something!) Also the signal when it starts was very quiet, and rolling on the knob it gets louder in what I consider a progressive manner. And by that I mean it all behaved as I expected it to behave.. But maybe we have different expectations, but without A,B'ing our pedals it's difficult to tell. I find the way to get a very slight octave signal is to play with the octave filter, it goes from clean-sub at minimum over to distortion at full. And a nice valve-y distortion too, not unlike my DHA VT1 EQ. Hope this helps [size=4] [/size]
