1. So what the Bejesus are they doing there? All I can think of is some once had the Pups out, the magnets picked up a couple of washers and were returned without noticing.. Bit of a mystery
2. Aye, can you magic the pics back please?
3. Great thread, Kev. I love this sun-burst. Been thinking about it for a new build I'm thinking of.. If pockets allow!
4. I was wondering if the washers were to connect the two halves of each magnet. Do you mean mouse mat, mate?
5. I've just been cleaning up my newly acquired Westone Thunder 1A. The pick ups weren't sitting right so I thought I'd take them out and reseat them. Under each Pup is a rubber cushion and one cushion has had the pup over hanging it, which explains why it was not sitting right. The cushions are glued to a brass plate which appears to be earthed at one end. There is another blob of solder on it with no wire. Embedded in each cushion is a silver washer, on centrally located, the other to one side. What are these washers for? I want to make sure I get it all right when I put the pups back in. 6.
Chrome modification and knob/socket alteration alert! P
Now that is nice!
7.
Won't be long now mate!! I'm in the same boat - 2 weeks until my own Andy Summers Tele build is completed!
It seems like an age has gone by since I started all this. I was hoping to get her all fixed up before Xmas, but think she is in a back-log somewhere cos of the time of year. Was hoping to check her out on Xmas day with an OC-2 I scored here New year maybe?
8. Either you're selling this or not. State your price in the for sale section, or take it elsewhere. Stop fishing for offers through the back door. And have the courage of your convictions, it's your bass so you know what it's worth.

I bought Richards Westone Thunder 1A. He ticks all the right boxes, so deal with confidence. Cheers Richard!
10.
Posted off to BillyApple. Mate, let me know whenever you get the payment sorted for the OC-2.
Nice to speak to you Kev, will let you know soon as the cash is sorted
11.
Hi BillyApple - PM replied to. In still awaiting to hear back from dSix.
Just let me know
12. Nice review, and one cool looking rig!
13. Posted in Cali on the 4th, just cleared UK customs today!
14.
I have been told, on more than one occasion, that many of Duran's bass parts were actually 'ghosted' by Mr Edwards - anyone else ever here this? Maybe it's one of those 'urban myth' things
Perhaps he could've had knocked out a few vocal tracks for their utterly tuneless singer at the same time
15. I was in the Wembley Guitar Centre today, and they told me that Gibson have decided to cease manufacture of the RevTB, and will only fulfil orders in the North American market. Has anyone had an order completed within Europe?
16.
Where did you see it? I keep forgetting to ring Wembley Guitar Centre and ask when mine will be turning up admittedly, part of me doesn't want to as I'm flat broke, but it's been on order since May or June.
I was in the Wembley Guitar Centre today, and they said they were expected in November, but they are now quoting February.
17. I found this on my perusals. I'm not so sure though, never once does he mention beeswax or taking an axe to the nut! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8MuTEsOCW6k
18. I had an email from Marc Rutter who built the body. He recommends to tighten the rod before the neck is fitted until there is a small back-bow. Then fit the neck and string to pitch. Check the relief and make a note of this. Then take off the neck, and adjust by the amount it was off target. He says it might have to be done a couple of times to get it fine tuned. I'm not sure how to go about measuring relief though, and how you can then adjust the neck with the strings off when there is nothing to measure from?
19. You could cover the wheel with the pickguard, which would only have to come off now and then. Trouble with it though, is putting a shaft (snigger) into the rod and turning, is it gives you much greater leverage, increasing the potential for over tightening.
20.
There shouldn't be a headstock join. The whole point of the Fender non-angled headstock was that you could make the neck out of a smaller single piece of wood .
Just my terminology, I just mean the mass of wood between the neck and head. There'll be more of it if there is no truss-rod bolt in the way
21.
I read in a Fender book years ago that that was the reason for the move to the head. It said that it was adjusted by slackening the strings, slackening off rather than removing the pocket screws until the slot was clear of the body, making the truss adjustment & then reversing the process; repeat as necessary.
Cheers Stu. I'm thinking that this is the right way. Bit of a faff like, but as you say, that's why it was moved. Although, having it at the heel must give a stronger head-stock join.
22.
If not enough of the trussrod is visible, then my advice would be to cut a Fenderesque slot to provide access.
Maybe should've thought about this before the paint went on
23. Need help with the trick to adjust the truss rod. Any knowledgeable people please post here.. http://basschat.co.uk/topic/193780-at-heel-truss-rod-adjustment-advice-please/
