Has anyone done this with various ECC83s? I'd be interested to hear the difference it makes...

Me, I have! Mine came fitted with an Electro Harmonix, and a Mullard spare which I tried out. The EH gives more gain and distortion where as the Mullard is very gentle. Too gentle for me in fact, so much so that I put the EH back in, which surprised me as I'm not a heavy doom guy. I still get a good sweep on the gain pot with the EH though, It's nothing like an OBT where the gain goes huge after the 3rd notch.
The 3 pointer is a little inflexible in adjustment, plus standing up on three legs you are lose resonance through the body that a full contact bridge gives. When I changed mine I did notice a difference in sound, it was fuller with more mid and a little less top. The Supertone is a very well made bit of kit.
I've got a DHA VT1 EQ, and from what you are saying I think it's the thing you are after. Also it's valve driven so will give you a real valve sound. I've tried the Tech 21 stuff, and was very impressed, but it's solid state and I found the sound more 'active'. The DHA has a lot of scope too, from very subtle to heavy distortion.

Me and and Big Red X are the Basschat 'black leather pants and blingy bass' boys I think we deserve our own sub-forum

Sub-Forum? Don't you mean Dom-Forum?!
Just had word from Warmoth that the neck is finished, and ready to ship to Marc for the routing on the body. Plus Marc is going to finish the body in a matte black nitrocellulose. I think we're looking at least 4 weeks from this post.
I have a DHA VT1 EQ, and I swear by it's mojo. It's got a real proper valve in for warm fat tone-y goodness. Very versatile giving everything from clean to a heavy distortion. I use it with my Matamp GT200 to give a clean boost and with my SS combo to give a little valve growl. Very well constructed and I love the handmade nature of the thing. Plus I picked it up for a good price on BC!

Can't believe this is still here - it's a really useful version of PT. Alright, it's not the latest incarnation but it did everything I needed it to when I produced my band's EP - including editing multiple drum tracks with no phasing issues.
I must admit being a bit lax in letting this sale drop down the list. Hopefully some one who can make good use of it will happen along soon.

Conflict at Edward's Number 8 in Birmingham, in 1993. It was also the only time I have ever hitch-hiked.

I remember going to see Tad and Head Of David at Ed No.8's.. Brilliant gig! ('89-'90 ish?)
My first proper gig was Judas Priest at Newcastle City Hall in 1980 on the British Steel tour, they were great, but even better was Iron Maiden supporting.. Di'Anno, Harris, Murray, Stratton and Burr.. Running Free, Magic!

There is nothing to stop you using an 8-ohm speaker however the max output would be just over half say around 90-watts when fully wound up. You could however add an additional 8-ohm cab to get the max.
BTW "ohmage" is not an approved technical term, the correct description is "impedance"

Please forgive my 'Impedance', and I pay 'ohmage' to your wisdom. I don't think I'll ever plug in another cab to this, so 4ohms it is!
