I think that this will be a good idea. It's a fiddle and I know I could do it myself, but if they do it they'd be under warranty should anything go wrong. I'm in a knark tho, I missed a set of these going on BC the other day for £25.. and I was first to reply to the post!

I think this looks pretty cool. I like the tele head and stumpy tuners. I didn't think the pics were as bad as you made out. Just needs the frets sprucing up a bit, I'm sure someone here could recommend someone to do that, and you'd have a tidy rarity.
