1. Saying that, on small dings I've just locally soaked the wood, it expands and raises the dent out. Once dry, you would need to sand level and finish. I've done his on bodies I've finished.
2. More than a hair dryer. The water has to turn to steam, the expansion blows the ding out. Bad luck, by the way. The fact that you are organised and responsible means you get gear damaged. That sucks
3.
Yeah, you need to stretch that Matamp's legs a bit. It's like keeping a muscle car locked in a garage. Wrong.
True. Wrong on so many levels
4. After seeing Clarky and Silddx, I need to play, so bumpy bump
5. Thanks to Clarky and the band for another top gig. And a good giggle afterwards courtesy of Silvia, Wayne and Alistair. By the way, Clarky, when you took to the stage Milena turned to me and said 'My goodness, Clarky has a big one!' Lucky old you!
6.
Sent to BillyApple early this week.
Received.. Thank you very much
7. Ace bass, and ace thread. I think we're all itching to have a go
8. We did everything apart from Vintage and Rare. Bloody Woman! The JAE is a bit pokey, but it was ok. All you find out though, is that she hated Bath. Did both bus trips which were good. The Baths are unmissable, totaly facincting. Nice rack, by the way!
9.
That's the lad, got it when I was on honeymoon in Bath earlier in the year. Seemed like the right thing to stick on my bass.
I was at the Jane Austen Experience in Bath 3 weeks ago. Not that I wanted to go, of course. I'm much too hard and street for that, no it was the lass that dragged me there. Loved the Roman Bath's though, ace.
10.
All this talk of swapping out the valves has got me wondering whether it's worth giving it a shot on my Terror...hmm!!!
Have you spotted Happy Jacks thread?... http://basschat.co.uk/topic/134869-re-valving-an-orange-bass-terror/page__hl__re%20valve
11. I joined wittyretortchat, but they were all a bunch of f***ing *****
12.
Think might only be the Tiny Terror that is all valve. The Bass Terror is mostly a class D power module and SMPS that will be far too complex to handwire.
You know what, I think you are right. It's late, I'm mixing up my G's&B's. Nite!
13. That's my clobber sorted for the up coming SE Bass Bash.. Calling Paul H.. Now can you see where you are going wrong?
14. I'd love an OBT, but due to the fact I've got a Matamp GT200 and I'm big enough to lug it about, I cant really justify the purchase. However I will say this, I have played thru an OBT twice. In a shop. The first time I bought the bass, the second time I'm squirming to buy the bass. Top banana
15.
Interesting read. My gas is turning orange. One question: other than price, are there differences between the UK made and China made ones?

To the best of my knowledge, all the OBT's are made in China.
There is a hand-wired (they call it hard-wired) version that is UK built and UK pricier. But (depending on your point of view) the same thing.
16. Just the first few notes from Stu Morrow on NMA's vengeance, and I'm up and wrecking... And the rest of it's great too.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2bLcacif9ug
17.
Ok, what would be really interesting, and would put alot of myths to bed: 1) create a sampled loop of a bass playing live on the day. 2) play this out through a cranked valve amp into one of Alexs cabs 3) put an volt meter or similar measuring device on the output of the amplifier, so that we can get a rough estimate of the RMS voltage (yes, I know P=V^2/R - bear with me) 4) record the spl coming out of the speaker - possibly whist observing from the next county. 5) swap out the valve amp for a solid state amp 6) match the spl 7) measure the voltage RMS required to get the same SPL. 8) calculate the difference in power and / or dB required to match the two. Does anyone have any kit to try out this experiment?
Sounds fun. I could donate a Matamp GT200 Head for the valve bit. And you'd be welcome to turn the knob to full if you like, I know I have.
18.
Alarm bells ring when someone takes their pics outside in the garden resting against some paving slabs for example!
Agreed.. Bass on rough garden wall, Sir? *shudders* No thanks.
19.
I agree with what's been said apart from this - the photos on eBay look fine and having a washing machine in the background will add no value. Plus I prefer that the bass be pictured laying down on a soft carpet than on a hard surface, makes it look like it's been looked after. Alarm bells ring when someone takes their pics outside in the garden resting against some paving slabs for example!
There you go Louis. Dannybuoy has a different view, but it's not the end of the world. It's only my opinion about the photo's, other folk don't always see things the same way. Anyway, Louis, you do what you think is best.
20. Say what you want, but even after all this time, the '50 style P is one hell of a handsome piece. Good luck with the sale
21. Listen, Louis, I'll give you some advice, and you can take it or leave it, but I'm not having a go at you personally, and I do hope you find a buyer for this bass.... But this is what I would do now.. Get in touch with a moderator and ask them to lock this topic, I think it has run it's course. Re-post the sale in the basses for sale thread. State an asking price, and stick to the price. You can haggle with with a potential buyer, but that is done by PM Basschat is not an auction site, you will (and have) get short shrift if you announce you have got an offer, but are hanging for a better one. Do your dealing and haggling via PM. But if you accept a price, you should stick to your word, otherwise you wont get anywhere on Basschat. Post up some pics that look a little more genuine, maybe some of the bass in your kitchen, just something that looks like it has not been copied from elsewhere. Give a bit of history to the bass. Where did you get it? How long owned? etc etc Tell people they are free to have a look. Don't get into personal rows with people. If you think someone is getting personal, just ignore it. This is only a for sale thread, all you want to do is sell your bass, and fair enough. If bass playing is not for you, no worries. But if it is, check out the rest of the forum. You'll find a lot going on. Some of us do meet regularly in London, there's members gigs, socials and bass meet-ups, so plenty to get involved with in real life. Hope this has been some help Good luck with the sale
22. Where abouts in London are you Louis, can people come and have a look at the Bass? And why are you selling it on?
