1.
Vintage and Rare in Bath have a sunburst version up for £995.00....
☺
 2. It's very nice. Doesn't sound at all like my old TBird, much brighter. The neck is very nice, very playable. A bit wider than my old Gibson. Much more comfortable to play with the arm cut.
 3. I was in a pub in Stourbridge once when Neds Atomic Dustbin were in. They had two bass players! Didn't talk to them.
 4.
You wont find many "dyed in the wool" Southerners referring to the stars and bars as Old Glory, believe me.
OK. What is your source for this?
 5.
Depends where you come from North or South, but I take your point.
It doesn't depend on anything. Old Glory is a nick-name for the flag of the United States of America. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Old_Glory
 6.
There's some parallel with the situation in Ukraine where they have just removed 1,320 statues of Lenin. The intent is not to wipe out history but to remove public symbols of occupation during the Soviet era. I imagine most of them are going to be destroyed. Should all 1,320 statues be preserved? Does anyone need that many statues of Lenin? Maybe keep a few significant examples for museums?
That's a bit rough. I like the Beatles. I suppose you had to be there at the time.
 7.
There's lots of them. Ken Burns' book and multipart documentary is good. The Wikipedia article isn't too bad as a general introduction. First though, read the Wikipedia article on the Cornerstone Speech, the speech given by Confederate Vice President Alexander Stevens in 1861, the birth of the CSA... https://en.wikipedia...nerstone_Speech
Cheers
 8.
Let's not beat around the bush... the civil war was about slavery and the confederate flag is the flag of the pro-slavery side.
Can you recommend a book on the subject?
 9.
I think it is
I'm not saying that war was not about the above, just that (I should imagine) there is more than meets the eye.
 10.
In fact it's just occurred to me that the admods on here may not think it appropriate and if that's the case I apologise and please pull the post.
I think it's a worthwhile debate as long as we can keep it civil and not civil war.
 11. This is an interesting one, as there are all sorts of Confederate flags. For me they represent the Rock n' Roll Rebel type thing and Lynyrd Skynyrd. I'm not to up on the American Civil war, but I bet it's not as clear cut as slavery/white supremacy/North good, South bad type thing. You could either learn your history and use that to justify its use, or just replace it with Old Glory. Still Americana innit? Shame tho, it's such a cool flag and I'm uneasy about destroying elements of history to suit our agenda now. Isn't that what the Nazi's did?
 12. So you'd be OK with a Durian then?I just had it in Thailand, delicious, but stinks. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Durian
 13.
With your name, Mr. Apple, I suspect you may be next on the list ...
Yes. I I don't like my full name to be widely known. William Machine-Gun Apple.
 14.
Possibly could have been worse.....i was there for those few years and remember vividly the bottles of "gentleman lemonade" flying around all over the place. I guess a pineapple is more painful though
I remember when the contents of the bottles changed to soil. Not fun at all. There's some proper nasty types around.
 15. Delivered late. I've been told its in a box at home!
 16.
"You can get that old crap anywhere! " Pray tell me where I can get 'old' Oranges?
Tesco's bins
 17.
of course you don't, you've never written an original piece of music and thus don't understand that it takes far more talent to write a song or bassline than it does to mimic what someone else has done.
I'm not so sure. In my old band 'Billy n' the Bollox' I writ most of the songs. Now I'm in a wedding functions band and I can never quite nail 'Sex On Fire'. Edit: But now I get paid and that's the sweetest plum.
 18.
At 5.30 he had practically bored the balls off me and I gave up on the video - life's too short.. He seems incapable fo stringing a whole paragraph together. Ok, he doesn't like the bass.
Pretty much how I felt
 19.
You sir have a patience of the proverbial saint. Looks a lovely result though, how does she play and sound?
Don't know yet. John has yet to send it!

 21. Yes, the finish is slightly translucent and the grain shows through, very subtle though.
