1. Good Stuff. Props to ya. Are you planning to play locally anywhere? I have a feeling I'm just round the corner from you.
2.

If my memory serves me well, 11141 on the serial number means the neck was stamped on the 114th day of 2011, which is May 24th. the 0315 means it was the 315th neck made by Gibson to be stamped on that day. The 21/08/11 on the tag is the date on which the Bass was inspected. edit: spelling
3. In what way did your old one break, did Gibson supply this one under warrenty or something? How come the band split? you looked like you had something.
4. I'm pretty sure they fit Celestion neo's as standard, but I found them a little light-weight for my taste, and had ferrite Celestions fitted instead. They are heavier, but that should not be an issue with a 112 cab. They cost a bit more, but if you are having something made for you, you may as well consider the options, after all there might only be something like £20 in it. They also fit Eminence if requested, and they are more pricey. Ask them to explain the difference between neo and ferrite, the best choice depends on what you play, and your style of playing. 5. I'm glad you had a good trip to the factory. I'm very interested in how these hybrids turn out. My GT200 is fantastic, but very heavy. I also got 2X 212 cabs and they are awesome. Very solid and well built, TBH I only ever use one at a time. Have you considered which driver you're getting in the cab?
6.
If you do a search some where in the depth of the forum I measured mine for someone asking nearly the same question. Edit found it . width Nut 40mm 12th fret 57mm 20th 63mm Thickness just behind the fret 1st 22.5mm 7th 23mm 12th 24mm IIRC it's what Fender class as a modern C. I'd just add some people complain they are very thick. I find mine slim so their may be differences in the production run.
Thanks for that.
7.
this is now on my potential 'christmas present to me!' list
Great! I'll throw some wrapping in for you... It's got sellotape on too!
8.
I'm planning on eventually buying probably an Epi Pro IV, sending it off to SIMS Custom Shop for a nice refinish in Metalflake Green or Metalflake Pink, with matching fretboard LED's and new hardware and pickups, when i can afford it...... Liam
Pink! Go for it!
9.
That`s shocking that is, no straplocks on Sid`s bass! Does anyone know where this bass ended up? Jez
I did some shuffling around the internet (so must be true!), but a couple of stories kept coming up, and they don't sound too far fetched. He was supposed to have two white P Basses, one was given to a NY cabbie in lieu of payment prior to his incarceration, this is now in the possession of the Hard Rock Cafe. The second is in the possession of Steve Jones.
10. My '11 TBird with Hipshot Supertone
11. Sir, I salute you on your style and taste. Nothing beats the feel of a TBird ......Grin as wide as
12. Good piece. I'm trying to get my 70's style P together, but in the mean-time, how about a picture of Sid? Yes, he couldn't play, but in '77 to an 11 year old boy, this was it!
13. Neck for sale.. http://basschat.co.uk/topic/161230-mim-51-precision-neck-mike-dirnt-sig-mint/page__fromsearch__1
14. Went out today and bought a couple of buffing wheels and some polish from Halfords, and these are the results... I'm in a knark tho, because while polishing with the wheel on my drill, the force of the spinning pulled the drill chuck down on to the wood, and I was left with a couple of dings. Not deep or heavy, but not under the scratch plate either. I've got it like glass, but just keep looking at my two dings! But, the whole point is you live and learn, and this is a learning process. What I need is a fixed bench polisher! Anyway, the neck will be up for sale as soon as I post the topic
15. Just got 1st pic from Mr Wishnevski...
16.
I'd be interested in the Dirnt neck if you o go for that.
PM'd
17. Looking at her for the last week, I've decided it's all wrong. This needs a proper 70's neck, block inlays perhaps..
18.
Got that pic yet?
Still waiting..
19.
Just spotted this in my thread, ha:
.... I've been busy with the second
20. Duh! Righty tighty, lefty loosey. 10 half turns, Why that would be 20 full turns!
21.
Ive had my fare share of first hand experiences When i was a kid i stuck a key into a wall socket. The key almost melted in my hand as i just stood there getting blasted with electricity Needless to say, illl have someone who knows his stuff have a look at it
I read back my post today, and hope I didn't come over as a little patronising, I'm sure you know your onions.
