1. Surely a selfie is a pic you've taken yourself?
2. Herbie Flowers was outstanding. What a history and very very funny.
3. Well the big day is here and it looks like the weather is fine. I'm not going to waste it, so I'm coming on my bike. Billy Apple. Gear: Plectrum.
4. I'd only pay te premium if it was once owned by a really famous bass player like Sid Vicious.
5.
Stunning. Why did they never do a Surfcaster bass like this? If I had the money & space, I'd have this. GLWTS!
Thanks. I thought they did do a Surfcaster bass?
6. I've been asked about serial numbers. I don't like giving these out unless I'm really sure, but it is a seven digit one beginning with 96, which dates it as '96 made in Japan. http://www.jcfonline...y-of-Origin-FAQ
7. I sprayed a body with car paint I got from Halfords. Terrible results, it stayed soft and wouldn't cure. I bought nitro paint from Manchester Guitar Tec and had great results. The nitro spray was expensive, but wish I'd not wasted the money on the other stuff.
8. Just had an email that Bass gear in Twyford is closing!
9. How would a PBass with the pups in the same position in the body sound like a Ric when they are different scale lengths?
10.
Where does Oomph start and end, then?
You need to checkTubachat for that answer.
11. Punch is dynamic heft. Bit of sparkle, bit of pillow.
12. Cool. Last time I played a pub they wouldn't close the pool table or move it from it's position of the obvious stage. Did the Ash fair any better?
13. I went through Rotosound (too tight), Thomastik (too loose) and D'addario (too tight) before setting on La Bellas. I've also played basses with Fenders on and they were pretty good. I think there is a lot of variation in tension and for me it was the La Bellas that nailed it. You just need to find the ones that suit you. See if you can pick a second hand set up in the marketplace or take a punt on some Fenders.
14.
As the internet has let me down so far!
I don't see how, when you could search the Marketplace here.
15. They changed the formula of Nitromores. It's rubbish now.
16. Trade offers will be removed. Please keep them to PM.

The guys I like and have influenced, me cone out of the 60s & 70s. Blue

U2 were formed in the 70s. 19. An ex's uncle made a good living on the Northern club scene in the 60's. He was primarily a joke and song man, but very accomplished on the keys, although didn't get the breaks to move into TV. Anyhoo, he knew Ringo Starr from his club days before the Beatles. He said Ringo was an excellent drummer and couldn't understand why he came in for so much flak.
20.
Simply because a car has moving working parts that can wear out and a SS amp does not.
How do solid state amps have parts that will never wear out?
