It's my choice to take care of my gear and I've never had a tech that has done any more than what is needed.

Are you trying to tell me that all parts of a SS amp are never subject to any form of degradation? Even vibration from a cab can wear things loose.

I don't think servicing means repair. When I have my car serviced no repairs are made. If any repairs are necessary then they are identified at service, but the repair is outside the scope of the service. I regularly have my valve heads serviced and the last two heads and pre-amp were found to be running correctly with no additional work or repairs needed. I class this as a service.

I just watched Marc Almond do Star Man. I thought it was pretty good. He gave it a lot and had a big smile on his face. His singing was certainly better than I thought it might be and I enjoyed the whimsical interpretation. The people there seemed to be enjoying it too. I suppose if you are a big Bowie fan it's all going to be a disappointment as it's not Bowie and never will be as long as he remains dead.

Has he invalidated the warranty by vandalising them?

My Spector Forte 5 weighs 8.8 lbs, has a slim neck profile and a nut width of 45 mm. String spacing is 16.75 mm at the bridge. It's a lovely bass and balances great with Hipshot tuners. Have to say, any narrower on the nut and string spacing and I think you'll be risking the strings rattling off each other and not much dig-in finger space. IMO the Spector has got it just right.
