If this was me, I'd just buy it if the price was right. You are only going to tell what it's like when you try it for yourself. If it's not for you I'm sure you'll be able to sell it on.
I've never been able to understand why this band are so incredibly popular.
Because when they are good they are brilliant, but when they are bad they are terrible. They've written some fantastic tunes that captured the zeitgeist of a particular time.
I liked it. But I liked Second Coming more than their debut... *ducks*
I think they are both great albums, just from two different bands.

Think they look better than the Hipshot

I note with interest the Bass Gear in Twyford have got a load of new Spectors in. Must be dealing them now? http://www.bassgear.co.uk/product-category/bass-guitars/spector/
I'm being devils advocate here, but I'm curious and confused by it all really,
When I had a cab built by Matamp with Celestion BL12 200X's (almost the antithesis of a Barefaced cab!) it was very difficult to get a hold of the drivers as existing stocks had run out. Celestion told Matamp that they could supply, but there would be a minimum order of 200. We eventually got some through one of Jeff's contacts. I guess speaker manufacturers core business is fairly mundane stuff that they'll make a long run of. Eminence's deal with Barefaced must be for a minimum number of units, at least a few hundred. They probably don't want to make a load for themselves as they may sit around in stock for ages. Barefaced's deal probably includes a caveat that they will not supply this specification to anyone else during the term of the contract.
I'm intrigued by the Aguilar pickups and pre.
I had the Ag OPB2 on my Forte 5 before it was changed to the OPB3. I have to say it was a very nice pre. I'd say even and balanced with a smooth core-tone. There's more to the OPB3, but TBH it has so much bass, I doubt you'd ever use the full spectrum. I'd wager the Aggie pre and pups sound pretty sweet.
Something looks a bit odd about those to me though... The fancy top looks too small for the body, like it shrank in the wash at the bridge end
I think the blue one looks nicer... http://www.spectorbass.com/legend4neckthru
I've never been told off for getting a bass down but consider myself considerably cautious when doing so. I've also been going there since it opened so i'd like to think people know i'm not headstock banger.
TBH, I might have pulled a bass down, but I'm pretty sure they've always been given to me. I've certainly never been told off and hope that's not what I meant. They've always been wiped and returned by the staff. Which is how I like it. Staff wiping my things.
If its a new bass, to be honest I think its a weird question to ask; I would never thing to ask if it was in perfect condition...as its new! It would be sent straight back if it wasn't. If its a used bass then completely understand the question and surprised at Mark's reaction, although I'm sure he was intended on being rude or anything like that.
They're very careful in the shop. Only the staff are allowed to take and return basses to their hangers, plus they're always wiped down with a cloth once you've finished dribbling on them.
I wonder if "Dings" is a clue ;-)
A few of my basses are 'Ding-Wall's'
I have Just Called Bass Direct to enquire about a bass i may well purchase, i simply asked if the Bass had any marks or Dings etc , as i have found new basses in Guitar Guitar for example Damaged !!! he seemed offended i asked the question and his tone was very brisk and unfriendly, surely it is not such a bad thing to ask if there are any marks on a bass that is hanging up on a shop wall, that i am about to fork out a lot of money for !!! to be honest he put me off buying the bass, he is not doing himself any favours certainly not with me any way, his manor was a bit too head master for me. shame as there are some lovely Basses on the web site.
Are you going to spill the beans and tell us what bass it is?
If I shine a torch on the front marker the side one lights up, so I presume they are only fibre optics, which makes me now wonder about the pricing which says front and side leds. I wonder if it too late to get on to trading standards over this.
Hmm, well Sims tell me they can install front and side LED's that can switch independently, so I don't see how that would work if it was all one connected system?

Am I right in thinking the longer the scale, the tighter the B?
-
Does a different scale length make a fundamental difference to the quality of the B? If it doesn't then why bother making long scale basses?
If I'm going to be slightly facetious, then it's 37" all the way baby!!
Is that a fan-fret? Are fans of fans called fannies?
So in my experience it makes very little difference
So why the difference in scale length?
