1.
Just took this in a trade. It's a 1980 4001 in Azureglo. It's actually in pretty good shape apart from a few dings and checking in the nitro. The action is very low and it's a nice sized neck, not one of the clubby ones
I had the twin of this, I thought for a minute that it was my old one! The neck on mine was almost perfect in terms of width and profile, just couldn't get on with the body.
2.
Was this a purchase through Basschat..? If so, other members may like to know who the seller was, so as to not suffer similar misfortune..?
Was this the sale? http://basschat.co.uk/topic/273966-fsft-warwick-ss2-5-strings-wenge-neck-ebony-fingerboard/
3.
Is this your long-awaited custom job?
Yes! But alas we've not been able to bond yet. It arrived with TW's and an OBP2 instead of DC's and an OBP3. So it's gone back to Bass Direct for some swappage action.
4.
A black trans-matte Spector with black hardware. Forget about it.

So from this I conclude that the coolest bass is the one that I am playing at any given point in time
Exactly.
5. If this band had sex with Dick Venom and The Terror Tones, would you get Veiny Dick and the Terror Vipers?
6. I was after a DG B7K, put an ad in and waited and waited. Ran out of patience and bought a new one. Since then about 3 have come up for sale. Just cos I bought mine about a minute before the announcement of the B7K Ultra Great pedal tho
7. At last call Matamp were installing Genalex Gold Lion as they said the quality of JJ's had taken a tumble. When I had a GT200 it always had JJ's and never any problems. I did lose power once though, but it was a faulty pre valve, which Matamp said was rare. Are you sure its the power valves? I always had mine serviced at Matamp, but it is a ball ache to get too. I always booked ahead and they did it when I was there.
8. I don't see anything wrong here. It seems like they are using information to decide on what gets played. I think this is quite democratic. I suppose we could have the good old days where Monster Monster tossers paid Smashie and Nicey to play whoever the record company wanted promoting.
9. I'll tell you what tho, the 50's P shape is way cooler than the 60's, but the T Bird trumps them both, both ways round!
10. A black trans-matte Spector with black hardware. Forget about it.
11. If the E is buzzing while open it could be a worn cut in in nut. Fret at the second and tap over the first, you should be able to detect a gap however small. If its dead then sort the nut.
12. If anyone finds the strings are not for them, please pass them on to others to give a try
13. As much as this shop gets much kudos, I looked at a vintage Ric there a while ago. All was purported to be original and in good working order. Although on removal of the TRC it was apparent that the TRN's were not parallel and one had indeed failed. I showed a picture of the two nuts to a Luthier who confirmed the same. It's like anything. Always have your wits about you
14.
Those graphics are like a parody of a bass amp. I particularly like the graphic for the [foot] + [switch] = [compression] They couldn't have made it any more literal if they'd tried.
In fairness to Orange they've been parodying amps since the the '72 'Pix Only'. It is their thang
15. Well, I intend to walk in there with my head high and tell the guitard he should pack all this drop nonsense in! Start as you mean to go on I say!
16. Yeah, let it go back and forget about it.
17. I'm maybe going to have a jam with a metal band next week and they say their stuff is in drop C. I'm clueless when it comes to this, having only ever played EADG. They say the guitard tunes to CGCFAD, so I'm figuring I'd tune to CGCF? I'm also experimenting with a 5'er, would the B stay the same? I can't see it getting any slacker! Does all this mean I have to write the notes in tippex on the neck (again!) All help, tips, advice and video links of how to do it greatly received!
